Yulia Lipnitskaya

OMG....YASSSSSS! She literally just skated to ALL my favourite Kill Bill Vol1-2 tracks: Twisted Nerve, Bang Bang, Goodnight Moon and A Battle Without Honour. Shoot me.....but I am sooo happy right now :yahoo:

Yaaaaaass! I was hoping for Kill Bill but always thought of that as being a longshot....

Can't wait to see what her costume will be this time...bloodied bride's dress? Makes me wonder...if Averbukh had choreographed this, we'd have Yulia fake-whistiling all through the intro while making syringe injection motions with her hands....and then she'd pull the invisible katana off her back and start slashing at the air through her step sequence. Think of all that amazing art we are missing out on...such a shame.

I love Yulia, but I absolutely hate her SP & FS music. The FS idea is good, but I do believe it would be better if it was just an instrumental Bang Bang. Also, although her spins are phenomenal (better than ever), the choreography is mundane at best. It makes me mad that someone with SO MUCH TALENT can be held down by such mediocre programs. What happened to having Olympic quality programs? I really really hope she changes them!

I hope not. Seriously. The programs are still quite empty, which is probably a reflection of the fact that she's working on other things besides choreography, and that shows in her spins and overall skating. It's not like Medvedeva that has the entire set of jumps and can rack up them like it's nothing, I can't see Yulia with a complex program now. I'm pretty sure she wouldn't be able to do it - and it's what happened with some of her programs in the last seasons, she bit more than she could chew, and sometimes she was literally going through the motions without feeling anything at all.

And it's not like rehabilitating her jumps is going to take half a season. They are better than they were at the start of the year, she's lighter on the ice and didn't lose her drive in the middle of the programs. Personally, that feels more like a win than anything else.

I wanted to see her skate a clean program with seven triples, but not this time. We'll have to wait and see what happens.

I like the music, but the program itself... :slink: Damn! At least she seems okay with her jumps now :) And her SP is AMAZING.

it needs more transition, but the jumps look improve, hopefully she wil be ready by Finlandia. I prefer the SP than the FS.

Ok...criticism:

For Kill Bill as a LONG PROGRAM, it's probably not the best idea to do a montage/mix of 4 tracks (even though I LOVE all 4 tracks to death, and any of those 4 would make a great standalone EX or SP)...the transitions between them are a bit abrupt at the moment, and the choreography is not masking them well enough.

Hmmm...if it were up to me...I would start a Kill Bill program off with 'Santa Esmeralda' to establish the mood for the first of half of program (almost like a setup for a duel, like between O-Ren & The Bride), then *BAM* mid-program transition pose-break with 'Kill Bill Ironside Siren Sound', and then finish the program off with 'Battle Without Honour or Humanity' (ie. the fight, and show off them glorious lines/ina bauer etc).

PS: If they're keeping this current mix, PLEASE please please take out the random pistol shot-sound around the 3:05 mark.....it sounds like a glitch like the CD skipped.

Missed you terribly! Welcome back!!! :yahoo:

:love::luv17::thank:

Always love the idea of her doing Kill Bill. We also discussed this back then, when she was using it for her exb.number. I like the choices of the music and I don't see problems with the editing tbh. Yes, the program feels empty still but I do think she did present here only the "frame" of the program. More like going for the jumps, rather than anything else. I will wait for SA in order to have an idea about it but I like the choice so far. GOT next season Yulia, please.

I take it from Mr Urmanov's earlier interview about the 'iconic' look that Yulia will be wearing THIS ICONIC SUIT?:yahoo:

Please no half over the boot tights for this program please...The Bride won't be caught dead wearing them :p

Love love this. :yahoo:

I was hoping she would bring back that beautiful costum she used for Kill Bill gala program, but if she is going all Uma Thurman, bring it on girl!

I'm gonna rewatch the movie now. It has been a while and I love that movie, both Vol.I and Vol.II:love:

I totally agree. The music cuts are fine, and I cannot be so picky with the complexity of the programs when she is reconstructing her technique.

AND I will love to see a GOT programm in the Olympic season. It would be so EPIC. The season 6 soundtrack is so beatiful and begs to be skated.

So true. Though I'd be perfectly content with the whole thing being Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood. The original is 10 minutes, so plenty to choose from.
