Yulia Lipnitskaya

Yulia looked mighty fine in her SP. She's grown to be a beautiful woman.
It's heartbreaking to see what happened to her in the LP.
I was just complimenting her costume in the thread and then went back to the video and saw that. <///3
I hope she rests well and come back healthy. :)

Well, from what i've seen in news...
She said she was feeling dizzy after or during the short yesterday.
Today, her leg was already hurting before she started.

Urmanov said it was a cramp, but they are still figuring it out

I don't understand russian, so I don't know what Urmanov and Yulia talked during her program. I just hope it doesn't add strain to their relationship, because they are working well together, and I'm sure the drama is going to go through the roof in Russian news.

I fear it's her knee. It was troubling her in warmup. She probably damaged it further with those early jumps in the program...and then appeared to not be able to put weight on it after.

I'm kind of pissed at her coach for letting her go back out tbh...even if it's just a cramp, why take the risk of permanent damage without knowing for sure? You don't dick around with knee injuries. I mean, she already stated yesterday that she was not really skating to win (based off the planned technical content) and she can't be in GPF. What would she have to loose by pulling out? I commend Yulia's courage and grit for sure in today's event, but I feel like she was unnecessarily endangered.

It was really sad and heartbreaking. I don't know what her coaches were thinking, sending her back and risking working and injury she already has :sad21:

Can someone who watched it translate what they said? I think it's crucial to know.

The positive that I take from this is how I now realize the high potential for the Kill Bill program. Will she heal and be able to perform it well for us. I so
Hope so!!!! I think she needs Lambiel to do her next FS.

My heart hurts

Our poor baby

I didn't want to say or post anything before and during this competition, so not to jinx our girl... but it didn't help much

They say that Yulia had a cramp (is it the right term?) in her leg just before the LP (at the warm-up). It was her decision to continue. Urmanov said in the interview that Yulia would go for medical examination to Moscow, because this could be the consequences of that injury that made her to skip Skate America.

Really heart-breaking what happened and though I believe she should have stopped, water under the bridge now so after a thorough medical check-up that I am sure they're going to do now, I hope it turns out it's not some serious issue and that she can heal and be ready for Russian Nats. There's almost two months so fingers crossed.

I really wanted to say this. The choreography was a bit open, but she was selling it as well as she could.

Her leg gave up during the skate. She felt during warm up, Alexei tried to fix it, and at that time there was no thought of whether they should skate. Then, during the skate, Yulia felt sharp pain going into 2A, the leg just gave up. They think it may have something to do with the recent injury, but cannot say for sure. The decision to finish the program was her own. They are going to have a medical examination in Moscow.

I'm so sorry for Yulia, but she is fierce, her skating is still brilliant for what she has shown, she's coming back better in future! She needs however to take a break from GP and recover fully. I applaud her for her decision to finish what she started, no doubt there!:agree:

Poor girl, I hope it is not serious. :sad21:

So sorry to see her skate with pain in her eyes. She is a warrior! Darn, she got off to such a good start. Thinking good thoughts for her and hoping it isn't serious. I was shocked that she was able to finish.
