Re:maintaining weight

I drink protein shakes in place of meals at times and also watch my food intake closely. I feel much better when my weight is under control. If I put a few pounds on..I begin to drag when I'm being pushed to my physical limits. Even though Yulia looks to be full of energy and life up until her final spin she is clearly exhausted when its time to take her bow. Every pound is just going to make the program that much tougher. I do trust she is doing it safely and her ultimate goal is to be as healthy as possible and not simply as skinny as possible. There is a difference.

But in the end all the dieting and crazy long days in the gym and on the ice might be worth it.....YMMV

Of course it was more than worth it for Yulia :) ! Just think about the other hundreds of girls who work just as much but never even see a glimpse of success....it's a though sport. So of course she has to maintain a certain physique to remain in her position.
Btw has anybody EVER seen a real picture of her mum? I googled it a few times now but couldn't find any...
 
Are we sure the Untouchables Fly song is for the long program and not the short? The reason I wonder is the song is too short for the long program. It would have to be lengthened in some way.
 
We aren't sure of anything. Her test skate isn't scheduled until the end of August so.....the waiting game continues and she could still change her mind and just move elements around to fit. I think Fly is a good song but of all of the selections from Einaudi I find this one a bit monotonous when there are way more interesting choices to be had. I'm sure she can make anything interesting and hopefully memorable too so I'm not too concerned.

Fly would be a better SP IMO and with a shortened version edited just right the monotony could be tamed. I'm just about to go crazy. With everyone announcing programs it's just making me more anxious.

MAGICAL SKATES OF MAGIC named Yulia Lipnitskaia just blew the entire world's minds with her routine. It's INSANE. Girl, who did you kill to be able to skate like that? I know there had to be some blood of the innocent spilled to be rewarded with such a routine.

Daniela Lipnitskaia says her daughter has had to do a lot of growing up this past year, as a growth spurt and a spate of injuries nearly derailed her career. "We had seven (injuries) in one season," she said, recalling how doctors had told her daughter to give up skating. "I think things will work out, because she already went through all of that."

At the end of the performance, the violin melody grows softer and rises until, finally, it disappears. Lipnitskaia pulls herself into a spin with one ankle drawn tightly to her chest, spiraling faster with each turn, like a candle sputtering brightly just as wax licks out the last of the flame. Pulling out of the spin, Lipnitskaia looks back at the crowd one last time.

Wow that "SP" song is really good! It would definitely suite her well....but didn't she (or was it Adelina) already skate to this in one of the summer ice shows?

That's what I thought too. I actually thought Adelina was working with that band to write an original song for her. Nothing is certain but her VK page posted both. My translator is weird ...one said "Yulia new PP" and the other said "Yulia new Manual". Not sure what that means really. So this is ***unconfirmed***
 
Well if she does Mulan, I hope "Short Hair" is a part of it. It'd be a good program...

Although...it's totally the opposite of "not-famous" music...which is her issue, supposedly, with the program right now.

I think it's a abbreviation of произвольная программа (пп=pp), so you may be right :D I have no idea why the translator said "new manual". Translators are strange, wild animals :) >P

"Новая ПП Юли" - "Yulia's new FS". "Новая КП" - "New SP"

In Russian ПП stands for произвольная программа (free skating/long program), and КП for короткая программа (short program). So yeah, they announced both programs, I wish they'd be more specific with Mulan OST. But probably it's gonna be a mix of tracks so they just can't attach audio like for SP.

lol -- i does not approve:P

too noisy/etc, not soulful/etc as i'm used to hearing her skate to. i can't picture her gentle, flowing upper-body movement synchronized to this.

as to the lp: disney-anything wouldn't be my choice either, but what do i know?

anyhow, i look forward to those transitions, spins, and the lovely choreography which will surely come :)
 
If it's really Mulan I can die once for all..... IT'S ONE OF MY 2 FAVOURITE CARTOON EVER!!!! Well... if she combines Mulan and Aladdin you can definitely say "bye bye alebi" :laugh:
I hope she'll use Reflection :o:
