Yulia Lipnitskaya

That's a beautiful music indeed. But she already has the LP and the program has potential.

We haven't had the chance to see R&J fully developed, yet. I suspect neither did she.
It's a good program. She just needs time and work on this program.
Jumps that works, steps, more transitions, costume, used to the new boots, feeling prepared, feeling secure.

All those things when are done properly gives to the program a whole new face.

"Yulia's Tears"

Last evening, I was listening to the BBC Radio 3 HD Stream (@ 320k) when I heard a song that I don't recall having previously heard. The announcer said that the song was "Jacqueline's Tears" by Jacques Offenbach (here is a YouTube link to a lovely performance by cellist Harriet Krijgh). I put it on repeat because I wanted to grasp the structure of it. As I listened to it over and over, I found that I was in tears and thinking of Yulia once more. I began to realize that this is both one of the saddest and also one of the most beautiful songs that I have ever heard. So this song has become for me a tribute to Yulia - a way to share her grief, to share her tears, with the hope that she and we can put the recent difficulties behind us and move beyond them to a much happier situation.

Romeo and Juliet is similar to Schindler's List but a better composition. It balances Megapolis. It is like a sunrise of serenity lifting up from the river of discontent which is Megapolis. We could even think of it as the realm of the kite. If things go well she will immerse herself in its serenity, which transforms hard work into pleasure.

This is her SP with Eurosport Italian commentators. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9L8Ro_4ZsZs&list=UUPGh5KChrN4x6skWVQGedNg
I had problems with recording so the video is not good. But people wanted to hear italian commentators so I uploaded it.
They are great.
Now that come to think of it, Yulia's dress is very unique. I like it.
Her jumps in the SP had more height than last year IMO. I guess it was just her nerves in the LP. High hope!!

And Yulia was laughing so adorably here, but people still say she doesn't smile.

I like this quote, of the author José Micard Teixeira.

"I no longer have patience for certain things, not because I’ve become arrogant, but simply because I reached a point in my life where I do not want to waste more time with what displeases me or hurts me. I have no patience for cynicism, excessive criticism and demands of any nature. I lost the will to please those who do not like me, to love those who do not love me and to smile at those who do not want to smile at me. I no longer spend a single minute on those who lie or want to manipulate. I decided not to coexist anymore with pretense, hypocrisy, dishonesty and cheap praise. I do not tolerate selective erudition nor academic arrogance. I do not adjust either to popular gossiping. I hate conflict and comparisons. I believe in a world of opposites and that’s why I avoid people with rigid and inflexible personalities. In friendship I dislike the lack of loyalty and betrayal. I do not get along with those who do not know how to give a compliment or a word of encouragement. Exaggerations bore me and I have difficulty accepting those who do not like animals. And on top of everything I have no patience for anyone who does not deserve my patience."

Yulia should make that her philosophy. Although I think she does already, because I thought about here when I read it.

can someone explain me what is the story behind this dress ? I love her SP music, but I don't know what is this about

I also like her LP music since i love R&J music from Abel Korzeniowski

I hope she will overcome hard time, and make stronger skate next time

SP story: A little girl flies a kite before getting lost in the metaphorical sense in a Megapolis. As she skates she tries to find her kite (her true self) before finally grabbing it back. The costume is based on a dress Yulia likes to wear when on vacation.

If your asking about her SP dress then its an homage to her vacations away from the city and everything there that attempts to change her. She seems to be rooted in her upbringing and wants to rember who she was before the move to the Megapolis. Here is a photo of her favorite vacation to Cyprus side by side with her new SP dress.

She also flies a kite throughout her journey thru the Megapolis which also represents a similar notion of remember who you are as make your way. I like to imagine the kite is all the hopes and dreams she had and she just holds on to them as she follows the wind. :)

Ha ha...and what Bellflower said ;)

Yulia still updates her Instagram with photos from CoC, so I think she has recovered. She's a tough competitor. I bet she will be alright.

In my books originality is the most under appreciated aspect in FS. Yulia has it in spades:yes:

That's for sure, Sam. At first it was an intuitive fascination, and then I slowly became aware of that Lipnitskaya complexity. Finally I appreciated how her movements are like a personal language, both eloquent and charismatic. It takes time for this intricacy to sink in, even for a judge. It seems this is now happening with the judges, given the recent presentation scores. Especially the FS at CofC. It's about time.
