Yulia Lipnitskaya

The shock from her National's, watching inferior team mates move ahead and competing at events beneath her level may just be the tonic her fighting spirit needs.

Not
Yulia has millions of reasons to go to the USA... Putin is damging Russia's economy... And Steven Spielberg would put Yulia in a big movie...

The economies of a few oil giants are feeling the bite at the moment. And Yulia leave the country for Hollywood is plain ridiculous. Actually, leaving her home and coach would probably make things worse.

Well, first of all I can also put a big fake smile on my face but inside I'm crying. Not all you see it's true.;)
Second, that's waht I'm saying. Yulia is a perfectionist, she is very demanding and hard on herself. This has nothing to do with the press though. This is normal, she is still young and will learn with experience that you have ups and downs and nothing is lost. She will deal with it.
Yes Yules is a perfectionist. But since Sochi team event she has made comments how the media is all over her. I don't blame the media for her struggles this season and she will be much better next season. She is young and needs to adjust to fame and the media and high expectations.

Let's not discuss here who's damaging Russia and who's not, because it's not the place. ;)

thanks for saying this. i dont think this is a good place for one sided political rhetoric, especially against host country of athletes.

as to the money situation, forbes magazine published an article during olympics which said yulia could be worth 50 million if she came to america. of course this was before her problems...

True. However she could've monetize in Russia as well, after the Olympics, but as her representative explained she refused 90% of the proposals that came, advertising contracts etc. because she did not want more exposure.
So basically she took only in two major campaigns. The first was the ice show "Show of Champions", and the second for the nomination of General Director of the Sports and Education "Sambo-70", which is her club if I'm not mistaken?

I don't remember if this is my first time posting in this thread. lol.

As good as Yulia was last season, I don't think that Forbes thing was serious. I don't think Yulia was worth that much even if she leaves Russia. They're just hyping her so much and look what that did to her.

About Yulia, I hope she rests well and come back with great programs next season. I like Megapolis. She was actually hitting notes in her SP now more than last year and her flailing arms seem lesser now, too.
I actually want to see her skate to Mulan music. Mulan is my favorite Disney princess. I hope they choose that and really develop it next season.

I also would love to see her use the music from Spirited Away and portray Chihiro. It seems like she's fit for that role and music. :)

It is her club, so she basically had to do it. There were some videos from that campaign, and honestly she looked bored in them. :)

Yeah, I can imagine that. Basically that was a duty. But even the show "Show of Champions" was the one she partecipated, right?

She toured the country with Averbukh's show in spring and early summer, that was her only commercial involvement, as far as I know. :) I sometimes wish she hadn't, but perhaps she felt duty-bound too.

Reading all of these comments makes me realise how loved Yulia is. She's lucky to have such fans who keep supporting her even when she's not competing.

I personally would love to see her rocking an exhibition program to Eminem next season ()

I think she did the right thing. Earning something right after the Olympics it's a reasonable thing to do, and as you said she also might have felt duty-bound.

Me too.

Even if this is a fan page for our precious Yulia I just want to say #jesuischarlie, as i said I am a french girl, I live in Paris and as you know charlie hebdo has been victim of a terrorist attack. I just want to think about all the journalists who are dead just because they used our freedom of expression. And I don't want to forget the police officers who are dead to defend our rights.... Thank you
