At Eteri no account in social networks. Have an account moms Eteri, but she was not in the "friends" of Yulia.
Yulia with Diana added each other as friends only a few months ago. Although they are familiar 6 years:). Now not friends in VK.
I think it means nothing.

That's what I've been asking a while ago. People were monitoring also the timing of her log in and log off. :hopelessness:

Sometimes I get fed up and want to quit. But if you can't really do anything besides skating, you can't quit

I wouldn't read too much into this, at the moment at least. I've heard many artists, even football players say the same thing. What they meant was that they are artists (Ballerina or a musician), and that's all they know and want to do in life. This phrase from her needs to be elaborated a bit more. At least that's what I feel about it.
So, in order to understand what she really meant with this phrase needs

Once you're in VK, it's easy - it shows when someone's online, and you can also monitor them for their friends. Nothing is private there.

I don't know about Eteri having a personal account there, but for a busy woman like her it would probably be quite difficult. I have a VK account, but just because I have to keep in touch with my family who live thousands of miles from each other. I found something that pretends to be Eteri's account, but it doesn't look lived in. There's an Eteri group which is quite active, but just not at the moment.

Diana Davis is Eteri's daughter, also a figure skater. She must be around 11 now.

Right.
Diana is the daughter of Eteri. She is training in the group.

Yes I know that. I mean is more or less like FB right? But I never cared to check people's activity. I find that a morbid curiosity honestly. I follow Yulia on VK as well, but it's just for news and videos.

Well, it sometimes helps - I live in Moscow, and when there's another major car crash/metro explosion/whatever there, seeing the 'online' sign does give my friends comfort. :) Otherwise, I just don't care for that sort of stalking. :)

That's my point exactly. When it helps for practical reasons, for your friends and family like you mentioned it's totally different. I do that with my sister sometimes, when I don't hear from her for many days, because she lives in USA.

Exactly! I've had fun watching some friends of mine falling out and banning each other from each other's pages - those were very loud fights, clearly meant to be seen. I've gone through that stage myself once.
But monitoring celebrities' pages for clues what's going on in their lives? Sheesh, it reeks of journalism! :biggrin:

I did block my aunt once, but without any fight. The minute she started to argue on my page I just blocked her. She went nuts with me and complained with my mom. :laugh2:

I saw lot of people enthusiasm about this news. I will be more nuanced. It's not a very known newspaper and it's for the teenagers in France. When we saw the names, it looks not a very serious newspaper. Manaudou is in retreat since 2 years. How can we have her in the list "sportwoman of the year" ? :unsure: Nathalie Péchalat is more known since DALS for Dujardin than for her sport (lot of his new fans believe she's world or olympic champion...). So, it's very strange to see Julia first. In the very known newspapers, she isn't cited in the 10 sportmen/women of the year (What I say isn't against her but against the newspaper).

I don't know where did you saw that much enthusiasm. I found about this just a weak ago, and I took it for what it is. A poll in a French newspaper for the teenagers. That's nice, for Yulia and her fans I suppose, but don't worry. It's not that we think she has won Olympics for that. :laugh:

Don't worry about her privacy, her VK page has over 300 thousand subscribers. That's more readers than most newspapers have :laugh: I don't think she considers it a private space at this point.
