Yulia Lipnitskaya

I have a news: topic "Q and A" in VK will open on fridays only, because Julia will have a less time then early...

Thanks for the information. Maybe she is working on that 4-Lutz and its taking up more of her time

Didn't she say she was going to begin her new programs in April? I bet she is starting to intensify her training a bit and maybe work on her Choreo. I also remember her saying she isn't going to work with Ilya. I wonder who it is

Look at this cute little toy!!!

So...is my girl playing the piano here?

Looks like a photo from last summer's shows. I hope she does at least one or two shows this summer and tries some jumps other than 3t's. There is no reason to shy away from the other jumps and no shame in falling in an attempt to push herself. I want more than anything to see her smiling after each and every skate with her cute little head bow to the crowd next season. All season long

Aww....baby Zen Yulia

Any idea who is the second girl(on the second photo)? I am pretty sure it is the same girl who is on Julia's instagram photo. She posted it this year on January or February(i don't remember) and there was the same wardrobe in the room.

No, they all are winners from an essay competition organized by Yulia's group. Great stuff by the way.

Congrats to Yulia!
What a great example for kids!:cheer2: Im happy they voted for her.

I find myself liking a lot of skaters. There are so many ways to attack this sport and more importantly the program that a skater has chosen to perform. What I find so appealing about what it is that Yulia does is she has a way of connecting with herself first and foremost. In a way she is sharing with us as opposed to performing for us. This is crucial to her nature I believe. I've said it before but look at any picture of her( even this year's R&J) and it looks like she is more than just in the moment but rather she is creating a moment. A personal moment of truest commitment and vulnerability. I think that is why her bows at center ice after her skates strike me as being so heartfelt. She is thanking everyone for being willing to appreciate in what she not only is but what she has offered. It's never been a yeah...I was good or I am the next big thing fighting for this medal today (although that is of importance) more so I feel she just acknowledges being appreciated for doing what comes very naturally to her.

Technical issues aside I think she grew as a performer this year. I actually think R&J could have trumped SL in quality but alas...technical issues prevented it from happening. Oh..this sport is cruel. Going forward I just want to see her content and again proud of herself at center ice after any skate regardless of the outcome but we all know how high her standards have always and likely will always be. SJID has pointed out to us how she is a like a butterfly who flies on very delicate wings. Her vulnerability is almost a strength that she can never have control over and it will likely frustrate her at times. I would find it hard to define such a quality as anything short of the mark of a true artist.

End rant....and no...I have no idea where it came from but if you know me at all..I do this every so often

ETA: I think she posted this photo today.

end of fs season = good time to reflect.

putting aside tech stuff, agree her movements showed much more polish this season. i thought r&j prog seemed a bit generic (under-choreographed), but sp was my fav of the season.

as to yulia-the-artist: artists tend to be a very complicated bunch. yulia is apparently the most complex personality in the discipline. this, i think, is manifest in her deep & soulful choice of music, and her haunting upper-body movement/transitions. add to this her wardrobe & i think she has the best 'packaging' of any lady.

along with her flexibility, spins, & her ease entering/exiting jumps, i think she can hold her own in the upcoming russian 'bloodbath' supposing she improves her actual jump technique, because all of the above will impress the judges & earn marks.

other than that i overall worry about her fs career. she already has a nice olympic medal, a legendary skate ('14 euros), and is famous as can be. i blame either this apparently-diminished-incentive or stage-fright for her troubles this season, not uncomfortable skates, unfinished progs, puberty, etc. i thought her probs seemed psychological.

i just want her to be happy. but as a fs fan, it is frustrating because she has such a small body of work yet, but what is there suggests possibilities more profound than has yet been created by anyone. i've seen many of the best skates by the best skaters but yulias performances indicate an unrealized beauty which the others never reached. i know i'm not the only one who sees it. in one of her first senior skates a british eurosport commentator says "she has the most beautiful basic motion across the ice." it would be such a shame if we didnt get to see her mature, because she probably has the potential to create the most beautiful body of work ever.

Why do people prefer the skater who is concentrating on herself rather than on them? Other skaters tell the story, try to interact with the audience, Julia lives the story. It's almost like she didn't care about those thousands viewers in the arena. Still, they adore her.

It's one of the most perfected Julia's compilations ever.
Meaning of almost every verse of the song is reflected on the screen. Successes, failures, trainings, competitions on ice and off ice, all nicely mixed up.
It must have taken big amount of time to put it together. Impressive. :cheer2:

PS. and that slide at 1:04 on the very center of Olympic ice is beyond epic...

I watched the movie Shindler*s List for the first time today. I watch Yulia*s Olympic Team Free Skate alot; so I was really looking forward to see her potrayal of the Girl in the Red Coat and to hear how see where the music she skated to was used in the movie... anyways

SHE NAILED IT! Maybe some will disagree, but after seeing it, I realized how well she skated that program artistically :)

Julia is a shining star in the Figure Skating World. Hopefully she could retrieve her confidence and strength next season and light up the Centre Stage once again.
