I wonder... do you think she would publicly announce the place she is currently staying at all over social media? I guess it's just the USA, few people would probably recognize her. Still, Chicago is a major city...

This shot on her Instagram is definitely a view you'd see from McCormick Place though. Maybe if she's trying to remain low-key, picking a spot like that would be a good idea... not a whole lot around there, but easy access to get to other parts of the city quickly.

I think it's high tech trickery and she is secretly training a 4lutz on a glacier somewhere. :biggrin:
 
So while roaming the streets of Chicago she found a man walking a kitty cat on a leash and got the cat to pose on a fire hydrant while she gave it bunny ears all the while wearing a fully tilted gangsta style ball cap and renewing her street cred. Phew...did I miss anything?

Is she a history buff? In her journey, she is closely following landmarks of Jean Baptiste Point du Sable. Here at Pioneer Court, she is observing the original residence of Point du Sable.

Prior to this, Yulia was photographed in Michigan City, where Point du Sable had settled until he was arrested by British troops.

Of course, this could all be coincidental. Maybe she is just a fan of the film adaptation of Divergent, which used Pioneer Court plaza as a filming location? ;)

Your depiction is excellent. The two together are just adorable. If there had been more light to her face, her green eyes could've been shown as well as the cat's eyes though.
She seems very relaxed in the windy city. :)

Or the cat is REALLY a star and he's used to unknown humans, or Yulia has a really special connection to any animal :)

She has never been here for SA before. And NHK trophy is the other GP she hasn't been to yet.
It's a good idea to come back for SA this year!:cheer:

No, because Yulia herself said that she's in the U.S.A to work, she's only using the weekend to do some sightseeng.

I think being in US for training (or really anything) is good for her, in Russia (from what's been said on here) the press/journalists are around her a lot. In the US, for the most part I'm sure she can go about her training/walking around a city without that and be a normal 16 year old; it probably lets her breathe while still focusing on her skating.
