Yulia Lipnitskaya

ok so what exactly is the point of the test skates anyways?

Hello Qlutz :)

The test skates are designed for the brass of the Russian Fed like coaches and other officials to evaluate a skater's progress going into the season. In August they do closed to the public skates but this year it was mostly Juniors with Lena Radionova and IIRC maybe Voronov was there amongst the very few seniors although...maybe it was Lena and a pairs team. Anyway .... In August we got to see some pictures and that was it other than a few word of mouth reports.

The one that's about to take place will be open to the public and we will likely see videos appear shortly after but of course there is no guarantee who or how much we'll see. Last year we saw all of Yulia's SP debuted. The catch is the Brass can and will offer advice to the skaters and coaches. Last year they pretty much told Yulia that she needed to change her FS which was Mulan at the time.

It's sort of like a competition but the judges won't give scores but instead offer advice and I'm sure sometimes praise. It is pretty serious stuff and I guess just a tool to make the Russian Skaters ready to face judges and in theory be better in doing so.

Hope I didn't bore you or ramble on too much.

Yep, for sure we're going to see videos they've already posted Medvedeva ones. And I'm sure this year Yulia is not going to change her FS no matter what the Russian officials say, this girl doesn't make the same mistake twice.

William Joseph - Leningrad

Ooo is this short or long? I am surprised by it, wonder who's idea it came from? It is nostalgic, beautiful, slushy and sentimental (a bit schindler's list like - sequel? From one historical tragedy to the next.) and can certainly present her with greater maturity and endear her to the audience like the red jacket girl. Funny thing you can hear David Foster in them.

I won't survive these two days in sanity. :rolleye:
How does she ALWAYS have such melodic and beautiful pieces of music in her programs?

I 'm listening for 8th time right now and not intending to stop...

It's so beautiful, so touching, so powerful!

Dear Julia Vyatcheslavovna, you cruel girl - you just want to make us all cry again and again, don't you?

(I don't mind it at all btw. :))

I don't think it's a music for crying tbh. I think it's very poetic. Very russian in this sense although the composer is American.

Who has boots with fur?

It's the song!! Apple Bottom Jeans by Flo Rida. So funny that they were actually warming up to it. Shorty got low low low low low low looooww  The lyrics are so raunchy.

Must have borrowed Liza's iPod or something :drama:
