Yulia Lipnitskaya

Yulechka-Yulechka, well, if your hello not only we will understand, but those to whom it is intended. Skull on the neck and the bird flies off on her cheek ...

My interpretation: all the thoughts in her head regarding figure skating are flourishing like flowers, colourful, light and independent like a hummingbird, but her body is creeping down under, letting her down lately.
Also, one of skull's eye sockets is ❤ shaped - it's an allusion to us, fans (and our expectations) - the ones who love her so much are heavy burden at the same time.

Is she staying through Halloween? Maybe she can try Trick o' Treating....she already has the perfect costume.

depressing how puberty has wreck havoc on her jump technique. but she is no Caroline Zhang

she won an OGM so more like a second Lipinski, she might not be as solid as Tsurskaya or talented as Sotskova or Pogorilaya who will survive puberty
but Julias cold and sorrowful programs were really unique

it will be tough for her from now on with huge talents competing also like Tuk, Radionova, Sotskova, Tsurskaya, Fedichkina, Mukhortova, Gubanova, Valieva etc.

Puberty might have affected her jumps, but I still believe the core of her problems is mental and stems from her Sochi experience. The way she botched that 3F at Finlandia looked to me that she wasn't even concentrating on the technique from the beginning, due to the popped Salchow that preceded it. I cannot remember seeing her fall into such moments of self-doubt in the pre-Sochi era. Getting yourself out of such a mindset is difficult and significantly depends on the people around you. I hope Eteri is giving her the right form of help. It will take time.

She will play Trick o` Treat at SA and leave her competitors no choice but to either "give their best" or get punished. :)

sadly this will be Julias redemption season like Tuks last year

or else she will be buried by next season, she can compete with Medvedeva who has slow skating skills
but skaters like Sotskova, Pogorilaya, Tsurskaya, Radionova even Sakhanovich will be a a huge challenge for her next year

Don't rush; it took two years for Tuktamysheva to come back.
Yulia, sometime during the summer, said herself that this year she's not expecting to be anything particular, but she said she's planning full come back next year.
As for competition, it is competition for every girl, task is to skate clean.

competition will be harder every year as new competitors improve and turn seniors year by year
in russia only, Sotskova, Tsurskaya, can turn seniors next year, and these two have solid technique
not to mention unstable skaters like Sakhanovich, Proklova, will also be senior eligible

We don´t know how this girls will do the next few years. Maybe they are looking good now, but this is not the guarantee for anything.

Sotskova and Tsurskaya have solid jump technique and developing fast mature bodies for their age like Pogorilaya
unlike Lipnitskaya, Zhang etc who delayed puberty too long.

Saying that an athlete "delayed" puberty is dangerously suggestive, because it sounds as if they had the choice to do so. We all know that it is possible to do it, but implying that somebody did it is nasty. I hope I misunderstood you.

Okay, so let's put the final nails on her coffin and close this topic. :drama:What are we waiting for?

Thank you.

wallee, I think maybe you'd feel more welcome in a thread that is not Julia's fan fest- you don't seem to have much nice to say about her. Maybe the 2015 Russian ladies thread would be a better place for you to talk about what you think are her shortcomings: http://goldenskate.com/forum/showthread.php?55961-2015-16-State-of-Russian-ladies-in-skating
