Terribly saddened by the tragedy. My heart is with those affected.

Saw Julia's post earlier. Everyone must've been affected somehow by this.. hope everyone can stay safe.

Now that TEB is canceled, I wonder what are they gonna do about the result.. will there be another follow up for the free or if they'll leave the result as it is.

Let's keep them in our prayers. :ghug:

The decision on the cancellation stage of the Grand Prix of Figure Skating in Bordeaux, France was a shock, said the Russian woman Julia Lipnitskaya.

On Friday in Bordeaux passed performances in the short program. In the evening of the same day in Paris, there was a series of terrorist attacks. On Saturday, it was decided to cancel the remainder of the competition, which were to continue in this day rental of arbitrary programs. At the moment, the International Skating Union (ISU) is considering offsetting athletes ranking points based on the results of the short program.

"We took a morning workout at 8 in the morning. Then he had already begun to gather, to paint, and then I called my coach who is with me, Sergey Viktorovich (Dudakov), and said that we do not start. We were all in shock did not understand what to do, "- said Lipnitskaya reporters.

"We knew that we could cancel the demonstration, and that can happen is, we naturally thought of. It's a shame. And it is unclear how to react, so that we could move to another rink, maybe. It was impossible to relax, it was still mood already, so, of course, a little shocked it all "- added the skater.

According Lipnitskaya, in the event that the participants stage in Bordeaux, zachtut qualifying points at the end of the short program, it would be "wrong." "Because many top (skaters) will not work in Final: (a three-time world champion Canadian) Patrick (Chan) is not in the top three after a short (current World and European champion) Lisa (Tuktamysheva) is not in the top three. Plus our greenhouses Eugene ( Tarasova) Vova (Morozov) in the same situation ", - said the athlete, who in the short program, was second.

I have a question. In CBC video with Julia's SP Kurt said that Julia is training in US. Is it correct? As far as I knew she was training in Moscow. Since when she trains in US?

She was getting her programs done in the US during the summer...so maybe they were getting confused about that? They also said she took to social media re: the Paris attacks but that wasn't until hours later...

Yulia's giant panda got a shout out in the latest Icenetwork article regarding TEB:
In the lobby of the skaters' hotel, Julia Lipnitskaia was trying to organize the transfer of a huge fluffed panda bear she received from her fans after her beautiful performance in the short program.

That could have been in tomorrow's Cru du Jour. Do you know what a coach is most useful for? Julia had to rush to the kiss and cry after her short program, all while receiving that huge bear, then a beautiful flower bouquet, postcards and all kinds of gifts along the way. Fortunately, her coach Sergei Dudakov was on hand to carry the panda to the elevator, the kiss and cry and back.

Well, Lipnitskaia's giant panda has to fly back to Moscow somehow. Julia's fans were gracious enough to offer to bring it back for her. Julia's panda bear is so big it will require its own seat. It should make for an interesting experience at the airport.
That is very thoughtful and kind of her fans, considering how much luggage space that panda will take. :laugh2:

Marina choreographed her programs at arctic edge in Canton Michigan. She also returned to Canton for a week to finish the FS one week prior to SA. Personally I hope she comes to America more frequently to escape the pressure in Russia but I bet a few Russians on here will disagree with this Yankee on that subject. But...according to Julia she feels free and creative under Marina.

Am I the only one hoping she moves to Marina full time or even CSKA next year? :drama:

I'm not keen on Yulia moving to CSKA.....too many reasons...(perhaps only under Tat Tarasova for some polish and finesse). But if Sambo isn't working out, I'm completely behind her spending part time in the States under Marina in Canton independently, whilst still be coached by Eteri & Sergei when she is in Moscow. I wanna see Yulia work with different people in different environments, both choreographically and technically. For example, I would LOVE to see Yulia work on choreography with Rohene Ward....it would be all kinds of crazy, and potentially awesome.

OMG...Yulia with Rohene. Is that even possible? I'd die.

Well...they follow each other on instagram.....not saying much....but never say never. I would die hysterically happy too.
Rohene seems like someone who obsesses over story, character and details. All of which, Yulia could thrive on if she got or shared his vision. You never know if these two might end up being a mad fusion of unapologetic, obsessive craziness.
