I think one of the things Urmanov did for her, is give her an environment where she felt safe and protected, and free to be herself, and become comfortable in her own skin, so to speak, and rediscover her joy of skating and motivation. When things were at their most difficult, she must have oftentimes have wondered "What is the point? Why am I even doing this?" - she must have felt that she was standing still, getting nowhere, in the same, miserable, hopeless spot. Maybe she and Eteri saw eye to eye, and connected, when she was at her most driven - maybe her feeling lost and unmotivated because of it was something Eteri had difficulty understanding. I'm not trying to cast blame on Eteri - and this is only conjecture on my part, anyway - because nobody is good at everything. Sometimes... things just happen, and it doesn't have to be someone's "fault". But, the joyful thing is that Julia is happy now, and has found her right comfortable figure skating home, and she and Urmanov can keep on building on this going forward.
Also, I am so happy that he seems to understand the need to shield Julia from the media - just that in itself must be a huge weight off her shoulders!
