Yulia Lipnitskaya

So this is a bit random, but I was just watching that interview Eteri did regarding the separation from Yulia (thank you to whoever translated it! I really feel like she thoughtful and respectful btw)...and Polina's fall really caught me off guard. I winced! That looked to be really painful, but it was good to see that Eteri immediately rushed off to help her despite being interviewed.

What fall? Didn't she skate clean?

It wasn't a competition. It was an interview with Eteri, and she was talking about Yulia....but behind her, Polina Tsurskaya was in practice I suppose, and she tripped and fell on her knee.

I found it a bit spooky that when Eteri became noticeably uncomfortable with the Yulia questions .... Polina then took a tumble. As if her coaches mental state caused a vibration in the force

Man, I just watched that interview thingy with Urmanov and her, and wow, their relationship is just so nice, right? They were laughing, but working too. She did a very pretty 3Z and he did a nice butt down on the ice, I think they're going to be fine.

Rooting for her on the Russian Cup in a month.

I couldn't get the video to play? Phone difficulties maybe?

Thank you so much!!

The loop jump at the end is really nice!

I think she needs to figure out how to camel spin without the donut spin and still hit that crazy Catchfoot she does. The donut is getting wonky IMO. I don't know how this would work though TBH.

Eteri obviously favored the other skaters. She couldn't hide it. Her "shiny new toy" started to become rusted, and instead of cleaning it, she left it to break. Polina and Evgenia haven't failed yet. They are new and full of potential. She chose them over Yulia.

Thank you so much!!

Wow I thought I was the only one. I've always been so fearful of her donut! Especially back when she was doing it crazy fast. It always looks like she's going to topple over, although she does gets a beautiful position on it....

Is it getting wonky? Or is it just since the change of edge means she's spinning on an outside edge instead of an inside edge mean her weight needs to be distributed differently?

Edit: And that was a very nice loop. I was trying to think how you could change the SP without having to modify it too much because the way it was executed at Rus Nats was perfect but ever since she did a nice one in a comp practice in the second half of her program last year I've been hoping she would do a 3L-3T combo. Tano 3Lz, 2A, and 3L-3T (which is worth as much as a 3Lz-3T first half) would be cool. A difficult 3-3 and the highest BV you can have without a 3A.

I don't know if it was her doing that loop. Though, seeing the one she did at RN I don't think she can count on it yet to be stable enough to add another 3T, and I don't think she needs it now. If anything, with time to work on her flip again, it would be even better to open the short with a 3F, then a 2A, and a 3Z 'tano+3T in the second half, if we're going for a higher BV.

I like her SP this season as it is now, though. It just works for me.

You say all those things as if Yulia is some kind of angel. Everyone on this fan page deep down knows Yulia played a part in the break up. It is not one sided like you make it sound.

But the 3F has been her most unstable jump over the last 3 years. I just thought it would a way to get more points without risking a 3Lz- 3T combo which she hasn't done since Worlds 2014 or a 3F because even landed 3F have been so crazy it would be a much much riskier bet to have any 3F in the SP. I think that's why they made the change at Rus Nats and the long overdue change of going back to 2 Lz in the LP.

Of course she had a part in the break up. She finally took the decision to change coach and it was about time. Go and mouth her somewhere else. Nobody is interested to hear your broken record, again and again in her fan fest.

Oh yeah, I do agree about the flip. But right now I don't think there's really much she can do regarding combos, just work on those that she has now, like the 3T+3T for the short and the 2A+3T for the free. If she and Urmanov manage to work on the other jumps in the summer, and she wants to come back stronger, I think the 3F is better than the 3L. I don't think I ever saw her doing a combo with the loop and it's a harder jump to put on a combo too, unless it's your favorite jump. And she landed a flip in the Nats, not a pretty one, but landed.

But we still have to wait, anyway.

This is not the Eteri fanfest, so I take people are not going to be praising her when her work influenced the state of Yulia's skate. I don't believe it was one sided, in fact, I see Yulia as a girl with a very strong personality, and yes, she could be very difficult to work with. One can't deny the way their relationship changed over the years, though. Will we ever know what happened? Maybe not. But someone coming here to defend Eteri when she clearly wasn't managing to work with Yulia to her full potential sounds to me like sour grapes.

Of course it wasn't one sided. I believe Yulia had taken part in this too but I was pointing out what Eteri did.
