Yulia Lipnitskaya

Apparently, yes. Julia has performed a choreo version of SL on stage at a 20th anniversary of a Russian Jewish Congress, also coinciding with Jewish New Year celebrations.

My first first reaction to that photo was ....OMG, she still fits in that dress!
Second reaction was.....Who pulled what strings to get Yulia to perform SL again?! and off ice no less!! :eeking:

That was lovely :)

Now Yulls, off to Slovakia! and get into Kill Bill-mode! :hap10:

She's a really good dancer!! If it weren't for a few moments of unrefinement I would have thought it was a trained professional dancer. Her arms are just amazing! The whole performance is very well done.

Ehmmm , didnt like it at all , sorry people. Although a great fan of Yul yul and i became a fan of FS because of her , i cannot see Yulia as a ballet dancer. I was a ballet dancer for 14 years and i have been following in insta and in Youtube popular academies such as the well knon Vaganova Academy. I know I am raising too high the level barrier , but i am kind of strict with her performance and i would never say it was close to professional. She didnt have flow in the stage and her point was not good , as well as her pirouetes and fouetes were not centered. Overall , a good performance. I so love her in her skating boots that i cannot see here in the ''static'' ballet she performed. :slink:

I'd love to see a video of a ballet master in a pair of ice skates ;)

I agree she isn't as good as a professional but considering the amount of time she put into it...it's a good performance and I think the use of her arms is incredibly effective in painting the picture she told on the ice.

I had the same problem watching Daisuke Takahashi in Love on the Floor. Upper-body movement and arms were great but the feet were static. It made me super uneasy because I'm used to him flying around and being the best at what he does especially in footwork. Same with Yulia here. The her arms and upper-body movement are like 9/10 and then her feet and legs are 6/10 which is not bad at all, but the discrepancy makes me uncomfortable. Like as Sam said, if a Ballet dancer was skating. But this is a good effort.

According to her Ask, it took her two hours to prepare the dance... AFTER she realized this is not going to be on ice. When they agreed to performance, they had no idea that this would be an off-ice thing. Nobody told them.

Wow. I'm impressed.

What kind of doofus invites a figure skater to perform, but fails to inform her that she won't be skating...? :scratch2:

Regardless....glad they did since we got that amazing performance out of it. The dress still fits, wow!
