Yulia Lipnitskaya

why am I having the feeling this is a forced injury ???

the comment on the Fed about recommending her to change her FS - that's a clue there :/
Yep, looks like rusfedosis or "Lakernik's hip".
"Old injury" as she had some history with these, as we all well remember. :sarcasm:

mish, It definitely could be her hip. I don't remember a previous hip injury. Do you recall when it occurred, etc.?

EDIT: oh now I see your sarcasm. Ha. This has me pretty upset, can't appreciate a good joke.

http://rsport.ru/figure_skating/2016...106214887.html This intervew painted a generally bleak picture but there was no mention of a specific injury. It appeared that the injury in Bratislava was acute. There was no indication until now that it would interfere with her progress.
She even deny injury day after Finlandia Trophy in her ask:

Q: Что случилось, Юль? Прост ноги забила? Или прыгнула неудачно? Травмы нет?
A: Нормально все... Я просто боюсь прыгать.
Q: Any injury?
A: Everything is OK. I'm just afraid to jump.

You're right. She has made many such positive statements on Ask, no interview has given any indication. Everything that I remember in her past is below the knees, nothing that would look like what we saw. Alexei was definitely massaging both her knees after the skate. I was surprised that she answered maybe 20 questions on Ask the night after Bratislava. Someone asked why she decided to talk, and among the reasons was "I had the time and I need to talk." I hope we get a clearer picture soon.

yes, Lakernik's noise the past week about Julia's lack of readiness and recommendations to change her FS raise an alarm here.
I wont be surprise if this is a forced injury, this isn't the first anyways, lol.

from ASK:

It is a pity that starred with CA, we are waiting for your presentation. 😳 Julia, tell only whether all health good? Forces you to AE and patience! We know how to wait. ❤️ Thank you fight! ezh_pod_sosnoy

Better, thank you! Preparing. It's okay, ordinary figurnokatatelnye bolyachki😂 Already in the jumping went 👌

So she's saying ordinary figure skating pains/ills? That's weird.

An ordinary level of pain for her. Most promising is that they waited till the last minute to withdraw. That suggests to me a rather common acute injury (something pulled for example), for which recovery time is often hard to predict. If it had been more serious I think we would have heard about it before now.

No, one FSO user has written:
At training before FP Yulya has strongly fallen in Bratislava, has hit shoulder and has pulled back. She has skated on tablets . During hire of the program has jammed back.
Already in Sochi medical examination has shown: the shoulder is beaten out , the inflammation (sheaves, probably)has begun. And flu, has added problems - she has not managed to be restored.

I like her Instagram post today !

"To survive, to go further" 🎼 ☀️👏

*is this translation correct?

My translator reads Surviving, to go further. That's slightly more optimistic, so I suggest using Chrome. I much prefer Borzaya's "overcome" to the translator's "survive," overcome it is. About an hour ago she said she is in Moscow. That would have been evening Moscow time.

Anin, thanks so much. Could you link this, maybe someone can translate it. It reads like a dislocated shoulder was popped back during practice, she skated on pain pills, and the shoulder was damaged while performing.

Ah thank you so much! Darn, rotten luck. Fingers crossed she gets well soon.

Oww.... I'm less concerned about the shoulder but more about the back. Back (or spinal) injuries can last a lifetime and are so easily aggrevated for people of all ages even if you're not an athlete. Hope Yulia lets it heal properly before starting to go all out training-mode again.

Get well soon!! :sad46:

At least she seems in good spirits on ask.fm :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdqOrLZMBbw At 4:08 you will see her arm movement stop for a couple of seconds. Watch her left arm as she comes out of the final pose.
