I am glad it is not serious. I hope they will have more official statement about her true condition so people will truly be relieved.According to some Russian sources, Julia had to interrupt the free program due to muscle clumps of her left leg, which prevented her from standing on one leg. Alexei Urmanov was kneading her leg during the warm up to relieve that muscle pain and she was experiencing the problem before the start of the free program. But fortunately, it was not a serious injury like a ligament rupture and she will recover by next month's Russian Championships.
- The athlete had done the first part of her free program, but when she started the second half, she suddenly asked her coach Alexei Urmanov to stop the music. As it turned out, Julia's leg muscles began cramping, which was why she could not step on it. After the dialogue with the referee, it was decided to resume the music for the skater to be able to complete her performance.
I am now hoping she will be fully fit for Russian nationals... that she will be totally awesome there... and that she will be chosen for the World's team. (I want all the other Russian ladies to be in the World's team too...! But Julia most of all, and especially since I'll be there in Helsinki myself)

Urmanov: we shall overcome![]()
Yes, I would love to get such a photo...! And if I do, you can be sure I will share it!YesWay, If we should be so very lucky, I have a request. You may recall a photo you took about two years ago, you captured Yulia and Eteri in a pensive pose, standing on either side of the barrier at the side of the rink. I'd be grateful if you could provide an up-date with something similar, this time with Alexei. I would then use it as my desktop wallpaper for a very long time. Your shot of Yulia and Eteri had an intense spiritual quality, a unity that I found really wonderful. Another great photo, please, just a small request.

Interview with TAT:
GR: What can you say about the ladies skating? Everyone expected a Russian podium.
TAT: You can never expect anything, because anything can happen: from the hardest trauma to the greatest record. Sport is interesting because it is unpredictable. No result can be predicted beforehand.
GR: Lipnitskaya had a trauma during the skate...
TAT: That wasn't a trauma, she had a leg cramp during warm up, it was obvious. She should have unlaced the boot and drank some salted water quickly. It seemed that she dehydrated. Perhaps the is too skinny. Having a cramp can cause you to drown in the sea even if you can swim. Julia can "swim" though, and that's why she didn't "drown" here but finished the skate. Every athlete can ask for a pause during the skate. You will lose points for the pause, but you will still be able to compete. You can say that something happened with the leg, and get a couple of minutes. This time would be enough to unlace the boot, drink some water, lace it back and sting the leg with a small needle. It happens often. The coach Alexei Urmanov saw the problem during the warm up, and massaged the leg, but the cramp does not go away that fast.
GR: What happened to the athlete who was expected to have such a bright future in front of her after Sochi Olympics?
TAT: Expected by who? Nobody expected anything, this is a very difficult process. Anya Pogorilaya has passed it already, Lena Radionova is going through it now. Not without success, but not without losses, either. Radionova proved many times that she has character and that you can rely on her in big competitions and she would not let you down.
GR: What about Medvedeva, Tuktamysheva, Sotnikova?
TAT: Medvedeva is going through it as well, but she is above everyone right now. She works a lot.
Bestsemianova also said Yulia is too skinny.
So in the middle of september her weight was 50 kg and month later 40kg ? It's probably wrong translation ?

It's not true that in the middle of september her weight was 50 kg and month later 40kg

Julia's weight should not be a topic for discussion. I think she looks perfect and if she's happy with the way she looks then that's what matters mostBut it's true that she looks too skinny, i even think she needs to gain some weight
LADIES
GOLD - Julia Lipnitskaya (FS)
The heartache is real here. Performance aside, this is truly a sensational costume, and Lipnitskaya is the kind of skater who can really make it work. The angular fluidity of her skating and choreography works well against the rebellious looking Kill Bill inspired outfit. Had Lipnitskaya been able to finish her routine, this costume would have been legendary atop the podium. In a sport that tends toward hyper feminization -- Lipnitskaya looks like a superhero.
BRONZE - Julia Lipnitskaya (SP)
A lovely, simple dress that complements a soft, subtle program. Lipnitskaya truly ruled the style front in Moscow, from music choice to costume. In this instance, the deep, rich brown of her velvet dress helped evoke the lounge-like feeling of her soundtrack, and the organic beading pattern resembled bubbles in champagne. Here's to hoping she doesn't need to sit out the rest of the season.
