Yulia Lipnitskaya

Is this a fake interview as well?

No I believe its real. Nothing in it seemed off. In one part they even asked about the long train ride between the hotel and venue at Worlds and Eteri said it was the same of all athletes including Mao and so they had no real complaints.
E- second place at the World Cup - it’s very good. We have just arrived from Japan - good country, disciplined and organized. The only thing was the poor organization of competitions regarding schedules. We lived in Tokyo. A competition held in Saitama. It’s like to live in Moscow, and compete in Klin, and go back and forth in traffic jams. Sometimes the journey takes about two hours. Imagine two hours on the training get a few hours later and back on the train for about two hours traffic jams. A few workouts a day can be. Eight hours on the road - it is, sorry, half of my life in the bus. Certainly exhausting. This surprised and could not understand. The first time such that the competition was held in one place, and lived in another.

Q- organizers apologized?

E- No. Were still in the general conditions. The same Japanese figure skater Mao Asada lived in Tokyo hotel and went to the training, as all.

Its interesting that she mentioned Yulia being offered a show in Japan but then Adelina was there to so somehow the deal didn't work out. She does say she understands why Adelina didn't do World's because she was done physically and emotionally.

Thank you. I couldn't make sense of the english used in that article so I wasn't sure.
In fact I was very curious about this show deal in Japan. What was the problem...

Thank you. It's a very nice video.:)

If I understand article correctly, the other "Show of Champions" in Penza city with Maxim Trankov , Tatiana Volosozhar , Adelina Sotnikova , Elena Rodionova etc. was commercial failure with half empty seats, because audience was disappointment by absence of, quote: "legendary, popular figure skater" Yulia Lipnitskaya, who chose to partner with a talented organizer Ilya Averbukh and abandon the " Show of Champions" because better offer. ;)

Interesting.....smart move by Yulia to do the other show then. No sense sharing the spotlight with your rivals when you can be the star on your own. Really shows her star power when she even outshines Adelina.

Any Russian speakers care to paraphrase this video? What does she keep laughing about?

Has anyone noticed that the little habit of fidgeting around with everything is going away? She used to always play with her necklace or play with pencils during interviews around the time of Olympics and prior. And she used to cup her mouth a lot when attention was put on her. I really think she has grown up a lot on a personal level since euros even. She seems much more confident and comfortable around people.

its a fact, Julia as I said even before the Olympics was the most popular figure skater even in vk, but during the Olympics she reached a national name popularity
the only figure skater to rival her popularity in Russia atm in Zhenya Plushenko, she may reach as one of the all time beloved athletes of Russia joining the likes of Plushenko, Isinbaeva, Kanaeva, Datsyuk, Tzsuyu, Karelin, Sharapova, Kovalchuk, Emanlienko etc.

Here's an article on what she is saying. Sounds like she plans to relax and then start her new program in May. She said she is working on new elements but didn't say what. She hopes to be first in the world next year. I guess they gave her some award "For merits before the Sverdlovsk region ," she said, " For me it's a little weird. I just do not understand why I handed out awards . For what services " lol...love that she's so blunt. I didn't really understand the last part though( google translate :( ) but is she joining Show of Champions after this show??

and I agree that she's changed a lot over the last few months even. I guess she is getting use to all the attention even if she says she doesn't like it.
