Y: Carolina Kostner. I'm not especially was interested of skating, when I was little. I only knew Irina Slutskaya, Plushenko and Yagudin. When international tournaments (means: with Yulia) started, I learned them all. So, I like Caro.
Q: during competitions, do you watch for your opponents skating?
Y: sometimes, if I'm not first in warm-up. Better to watch it calmly, than turn away every time when they jump.
Q: at first Olympiad, then World Championship. What was cooler?
Y: Olympiad of course, in all respects.
Q: it was interesting to visit Japan?
Y: yes, I like this country. Dunno... I would like to live there.
Q: what exactly in Japan better than in Russia?
Y: at first, order - on the streets and everywhere. We lived too far from ice rink and spent half a day on the road to, but we see something.
Q: do you have a lot of restrictions during training season?
Y: yes, my main task - to train, study, and of course keep yourself in shape and in the good mood, therefore so many restrictions everywhere.
Q: do you study at external studies?
Y: I'm homeschooled.
Q: not upset that you will not have a prom?
Y: no

Q: do you have time for listen to music, watch movie?
Y: I listen to music almost around the clock, basically Eminem. I can listen to all music. Except rock.
Q: sports career not so long, do you think about next profession, which was Y: interesting for you?
Y: now I have sport. I will start thinking about it, when problems begin.
Q: fans and journalists "torn to pieces" you?
Y: yea, especially after Olympiad. It was a horror. Now I'm happy, what that's all gone (laughs).
Q: what is the most stupid question from journalists?
Y: when you hear the same questions fifteen times - they all looks stupid.
Q: something like - "what do you feel now?" ?
Y: yea, yea... "what do you feel now?", "what do you feel during skating?", "explain your emotions". Some journalists ask "why you fell in FS?" - What have I got to say? I have long prepared and fell specially, and then think "why?"...
Q: it was harder physically or emotionally?
Y: and physically, and emotionally, I had to just to go through that period.
Q: how do you think, what is the main difference between sports and showbiz?
Y: in all. I am not master of discussion and criticism, but... in showbiz you can be famous for your money. In sports, you can only win with own strength.
Q: there is something that you don't have enough for full happiness? Seems like you already have all?
Y: not to say that I have all, nothing really has changed in my life. I'm so far of full hapiness. (so they wrote it, but as we hear in video, Yulia actually said - seems like, I have all, but nothing has changed... yet).

I agree. She said she WOULD like to live there. Not she WANTS to. I would love to live in a Barcelona. Doesn't mean I don't love where I'm at.

There is no context, she said, without even being asked, that she would like to live in Japan, because there is better order there.

I think YLfan took it as a slight against Russia. I was merely pointing out that saying you would like to live somewhere is different than saying you don't want to live or even like where you are.

I'm sure we all have things in other countries we wish were in place where we lived. I think this also comes mainly from the fact that in Japan they actually had some order( aka security) while in Russia she was left on her own at times. has to be a little scary for her surrounded by all those people.

Why not? Her mentioning another country doesn't mean that she doesn't like it here. She was raised here. I live in Moscow and I like it here, though I wouldn't mind living on some island with warm climate and sea
I'm convinced she likes Russia more than Japan too, she even posted some patriotic stuff on Victory Day not long ago, she loves her fans for sure and people in general, but she CLEARLY stated she would rather live in Japan.
Thanks Papa...wasn't sure how she said it. I can see her liking the order in Japan better as she seems like a very structured person. I loved that she put up all the patriotic stuff!! She obviously is proud to be Russian but that doesn't mean she wouldn't like to live elsewhere to. I wonder how she's do in the USA? She'd sure have fun with the media
