Yulia Lipnitskaya

Itar-Tass reports that Yulia's FS will be to Romeo and Juliet.

Averbuch said that choreo is done and Yulia will portray Juliet using music from the R&J movie.
They also quote Tutberidze who, accordingly, said that "Yulia's participation in JO is a question yet to decide".
Dress for that program isn't done yet.

I AM swooning!!!!!! awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww my baby skates to JULIET!!!!

I am really happy about this nees cause the music suits her a lot! Also, I don't want her to create something totally new and stress out in the post Olympic season. Good luck!

So will it be the same music as in Luzhniki week ago?

I bet on it. Her Luzhniki performance showed that she'd been working on this for some time, too much attention to detail for an ex. It's a good contrast to the turbulence of Megapolis, very lyrical. It also has her tempo (same as SL) and notice the solo string accompanied by piano (same as footwork section of SL ++++), very similar contour of melody to SL, same feeling, and same story at least in terms of outcome. This takes up from where she left off with SL, and the Luzhniki shows that. The perfect vehicle for her.

I thin k you are right, exerym

Knew it....
There was no other logical reason why she would skate a program from years ago at the show and not sth from last season as usual.

I really hope it'll work well *fingers crossed*
She'll need her absolute A-game this season, the other programs look strong. But she won't be as driven as she was last season, which is logical I think.
Romeo&Yulia (as it should be called from now on) can be pretty epic music though!

I was hoping she would do R&J again but honestly...I don't really like the cut of music used at the ex show :| hopefully the full program is more polished...I'm sure it will be amazing though.

So the guy in the video I posted isn't him? They look so similar!

Edit:
Maybe he just commented for Yulia and then went down to the rink to watch Adelina. :D

The guy in the video is Peter Tchernyshev, russian-american Ice Dancer. He's working as choreo now.
Ilya and Irina were the commentators during the Olympics, for the ladies at least and I suppose men as well.

That was an exb. and a short version. So I suppose the LP will be different.
I wanted Kill Bill.

Today my aunt's husband and their daughter (they are Russians, my aunt is living in Russian with them) visited my house (they are on summer holiday) and I showed them Yulia's photos and they immediately recognized her.
They said many people who don't follow FS in Russia like her. :)

I think R&J suits her anyway , and now she's better as a performer. And she has this subtle way of expressing herself, it's perfect for her.

Yep. I was watching the new and the old version, and comparing them.
The new is short in that exhibition in Moscow, so I can't see that much but they defenitely look different to me.
So I suppose Ilya has worked on it. I also like the new music version much more.

The two programs, SP&LP, are so different in terms of tempo and story which is a very good thing.

I really hope she can have the dress ready in time for JO. I was so excited to see Yulia and Elena skating together.

Yulia is not having comfortable start of the season for sure, but she is fierce competitor, she will fight in every circumstances. Late arrival of LP is not gonna stop her from winning.
All those girls on test skates with their programs ready might even ignite her competetive fire. Have you noticed how she glanced at Sotnikova during warm-ups? I think she respects Adelina very much and wants to prove herself against more experienced and successful compatriot.
I strongly believe Yulienka will excel in upcoming season with every music, program and dress she's chosen.
It will all be like when CBC commentator said after her team SP in Sochi: "I think she could've gone out there with a bag over her head - if she skates like that it doesn't matter what she's wearing. That was incredible skate!":agree:

Beautiful words by Ilya, about Yulia and her programs. :)

Thanks to quiqie for the translation: From Russia with love [#14]: Summer to Autumn 2014

an extract:

«I hope that fans out there will hear me: please don't wait for anything extraordinary from Yulia this year, don't blame her if something doesn't go well or, on the contrary, don't praise her too much. Yulia works hard, she learned new spiral positions, new spin entries, new spin positions, new jump combinations. She does pretty difficult jump combinations at practices, and she is quite determined"

"in the beginning of her short program Yulia lets go of the kite. The kite symbolizes her dreams, like a guardian angel saving her from mistakes. Then she goes to the big city, the megapolis, but she still looks up from time to time, searching for the kite — as a sign that she haven't forgotten her dreams."

[The free] it's Juiet without Romeo, there will be confusion, but I tried to avoid suffering, drama, poisoning and death. No one is going to die on the ice. In the end, Yulia again will cover her face with her hand, in analogy to the curtain falling."

Listen carefully how announcer says in the beginning of the video:
"my priedstavliayem slieduschchuyu nashu utchastnitzu..." (we present our last participant...).
She makes a special pause and speaks the word "nashu" with such emphasis and love! :)

She's not just Yulia, she is OUR Yulia! :agree:

 papa, do you know Russian?

Announcer also says that Yulia told before Olympics: "That's all, I go to die". In fact she said it before FS at Euros.
