Yuzuru Hanyu: 2013-14 Season

I actually kinda liked the costume (yes, I'm weird, I'm aware). I didn't mind the bling or the lace or the boobskirt () - the only thing I found super distracting was that neckline. If you have to change colors in the middle of his tiny neck, at least don't make it skin colored. It just looked like they had run out of fabric and had to improvise.

I have to remove my glasses whenever I watch his R&J 2.0. You know, I call it the Juliet program. If it were not for his jumps and spins, I would have passed out before he finish the program, too much blinking and twinkling. :slink: And Yuzuru's waist and legs truly look like they belong to Victoria Serect model.

Meoima, I thought you promised you won't say anything more about the costume after Yuzuru won Worlds. :)

Usually, I'm not a big fan of his costumes. I also didn't like White legend and Notre dame costumes.
PW costume was ok, mostly because he doesn't look thin and fragile in that shirt. But, of course, it wouldn't have been suitable for the R&J program.
I miss his SP costume from 2012 WC. (he looks really nice in blue) :)

It didn't looked too bad to me, thanks to Yuzuru's body type. I remember a dozen of hideous costumes from competitions with lace and frill, worn by muscular men(in addition, almost bald) and THAT was really a disaster.

Yup, me too.

I agree that while the kid doesn't have the most amazing choices in costumes;) , his body type does allow him a lot of leniency. The way it looks on him is the best that the costumes will ever look on anybody  His notre dame de paris one is also another good example of that.

If Plushy really wanted to coach Yuzuru, I bet the Russian Federation would do anything bad to a great skater, a national hero like Plushy at least, who decided to retire. But well, if that scenario had happened, we would have seen the kid perform a quad long program without any transition and beautiful moves. His TES would be 130 but his PCS would be 60-70 at most. And he would definitely need an oxy tank right after the performance. :disapp:

If Plushy were the coach, it would be like: "No!! You have to blow the kiss to the judges, yes, look at me, like this. They will give you positive GOE for that. Now, let's do a 4S 4T combination. Good! Let's talk about the 4A.":slink:

 And last but not least, more death stares/voodoo from Tarasova.

This

Yea I think too, that if Plushy would coach Yuzuru he would propably focus mainly on his jumping ability, as he keeps talking every moment he can that he thinks Yuzuru will be able to do quad quad combo

But one thing.... I can imagine Tarasova exploding seeing that Plushenko's student is beating her Kovtun

As Plushy admire himself only high I think he truly admires Yuzuru. As I remember he also said in interview that he is fan of Yuzuru

But I think Yuzuru have the best coach as he can have for him ( except Nanami  ), and the best training mate of Javier :agree:

I didn't really mind it either. It's not my favorite, but knowing that it was designed to Yuzuru's specifications, I find it sort of...endearingly tacky? I think he just loves bling and dripping, romantic flowy things and that's his style. With his body type and grace, he is one of the only male skaters that can pull it off. But I think it worked better with the R&J1, White Legend & Etude in D Sharp Minor costumes.

I've been reading all the comments about Plushy and it makes me somewhat sad. I love Plushy and while he is known to be extremely competitive, in general I find him to be very supportive of other skaters (Yagudin & perhaps Kovtun notwithstanding). I've read and watched everything he has said about Yuzu and I'm sure he is flattered that Yuzu looks up to him. But the look on his face in that video from the team event says it all to me....his admiration of Yuzu is 100% genuine.

I like plushy too and there will never be another skater like him, definitely one of a kind legend. I find that his arrogance is part of his charm unlike other skaters who just comes off douchey. I'm sure his feelings are completely genuine as well but I also believe Yuzu being a fan did play a big part in those feelings at the beginning  Not saying its a bad thing though. Who knows, we might even see him again at the next Olympics

And again to put things in to perspective http://tackyonice.tumblr.com/ or http://skatingfugly.tumblr.com/page/10

I didn´t like Yuzuru R&J 2.0 costume, neither did I like his Notre Dame one. I actually liked the White Legend one, during the Sochi Gala looked amazingly pretty with the lighting. But all and all we can said Yuzuru is not the worst dressed skater in the world but I really want something like this http://wedding-pictures-02.onewed.c...-olympic-gold-medalist-evan-lysacek__full.jpg

Or Yuzuru just should let Meryl and Charlie´s moms do his costume desing. Charlie have look impecable most of the time (and color coordinated with Meryl) https://www.google.hn/search?q=mery...rFsATH5oHgBw&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1366&bih=667

That one was SO P. Chan's facial expression when he was receiving a silver medal.
But I don't want to upset anyone in this lovely thread anymore so I am sorry and shutting up.
