Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

One article interested me was what Keiji Tanaka said at the Yukata party this summer, where Yuzuru, Ryuju, and himself had joined together.

"When getting tired, Yuzuru becomes hyper and most noisy of the three. Ryuju is always flat and calm. I myself become depressed."

When Yuzuru is too talkative, it might be a sign of fatigue

I have pre-ordered Yuzuru's photobook too. Same here, guys. I would be broke sooner or later :p

Lol, I hope to see these 3 together more often from now on. I really do miss their interactions. :p

I don't know about those lip-readers. To me the interpretations are very shaky, a guess at best. I remember he said in previous interviews that he indeed said"let's have fun" at the beginning of the skate (which they correctly read), and that at the medal ceremony, when he stepped onto the podium, the Olympic five ring symbol was right in front of his eyes, making him think: wow, this is the Olympics!

【video】Johnny Weir talked about his work with Yuzu in R&J 2 costume.

Tonight, a Japan TV program introduced Johnny Weir’s design studio in New York. One of the guest presenters is Miyu Honda, a lovely skater in 10 years old. Johnny talked a few things about his work with Yuzu. The female tailor with him makes all costumes he designed, of course including Yuzu’s R&J 2 one.

Johnny recalled Yuzu gave him a dress code: the style of Johnny wearing in Vancouver Olympics. He designed three costumes, and Yuzu made the final decision.

Watch the Yuzu’s part from 37min 25sec.

Ps.
Johnny also designs a new costume for Miyu. A beautiful yellow costume with sunshine image. The final result is in second video. Besides, Mui also visited Pchan in Torodo in second video. Enjoy all!

@annca, thank your links. I updated my post since dailymotion interface is more friendly. ;)

I have a question regarding Johnny's part. When they met at the skating rink, they've talked about Yuzu's costume and Johnny mentioned Yuzu has a perfect body and stuff. I heard him said "6 sketches", but both the Japanese subs and the Japanese voice said he has designed "3 patterns" and asked Yuzu to choose the one he likes. Does anyone also noticed that?? Well, I guess Johnny must have designed 6 sketches and then he picked 3 out of 6 to let Yuzu to choose then. :)

As other bloggers say, and I think the same, the last words are surely "Olympic-da !" - It's (really) Olympics !

We are sure the professional lip-readers have made a mistake

Yes, the last one I also believe is "orinpikku da" aka "Olympic-da".

Totally agree on the shaky interpretation part. :p

Yes, I can hear "6 sketches" now. You have such a quick ear!
Also, thank you everyone for the corrections on Yuzuru's words in the flower ceremony. Looking closely, it looks more likely that he says "this is the Olympics!", even more so when considering the situation as Firal kindly explained above.

You are right. He said "6 sketches".

I concentrated to hear what he said next. I hear, "then, I selected (?) three.....skater (?).....favorite costume."

This was my limit of comprehension :bang:

I concentrated to hear what he said next. I hear, "then, I selected (?) three.....skater (?).....favorite costume."

I was able to hear a bit more: "So--six sketches, then I take (down/them?) three, and then [the] skater chooses their favorite costume." It's just the down/them that I can't quite hear. It sounds like it starts "th-" but ends with a "-own." By his lips it looks like he says "down"-- his lips would make a different shape if making the "m" in "them" going into the "three" (especially because he's smiling as he's saying this).

Also, first post here, so hello everyone!

Welcome! and thank you for your help :agree:

Also, thank you jace93

Maybe we (please allow me to be included :p) have done a better job than the lip-readers in the TV program

Thanks everyone for your input on what Johnny had said.

That's exactly what he'd said. I can hear him now! Thanks jace93! You have good ears! :agree:

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! I may be a bit sporadic with posting because of school (study abroad is really hectic), but I'll definitely be watching the forum!

I love the documentary about Miyu Honda visiting/interviewing popular skaters, I especially like how it's becoming a series now. First it was Plushenko, then Johnny and last Patrick. She always steals the hearts of these grown men with her talent, honesty and most of all, overwhelming cuteness!

When will it be Yuzu's turn? ;) (it would be a lot easier since they wouldn't need a translator)

I have a funny feeling that the next in line is not Yuzu, but BOrser instead! ;)

Why is Japanese top athlete always with yellow something ?

Chicken Ramen is the equivalent of Winnie the Pooh! Now we know that playing with plush toys is a MUST for Japanese male top athletes .

Don´t get a word of what he is saying, but he looked really into the game and like he was having fun.

Hope playstation is his next sponsor.

Edit.

Thanks for the videos :D

Edit 2.
The person that send me a copy of that poster will have my eternl love and gratitude

Hanyu is extraordinary, but also just a teen.
Gaming, listening to music and sleeping. That's what he says he does if/when he has a day off. --But mostly gaming.
He said he did about 320 hours on his last monster hunt game console. He is obviously not just doing this for the advertisement, but because he really likes to game!

During the photo-shoot when they had him hold the stick, he said that he really likes this, as when he was a child, he'd hold a vacuum cleaner pipe end and pretend it was a sword.

He was asking lots of questions about the monsters, but they weren't allowed the information yet. It was a secret.
He said being able to play the game before the release was really great!

Lol...a typical guy with video games!! He was having fun and seemed much more comfortable with this commercial shoot than the all red, rather cheesy, chocolate one. I really like seeing this side of him- in street clothes and doing something he enjoys in his off time. It seemed far less scripted too.
