Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

I hope Hanyu gets well before NHK.. he probably will only have like 3-4 days to practice at his home rink with Nanami Abe

When Yuzu is in Sendai , clips have showed him training coachless deep at night.

At least I hope that the OGM boy can practice during the day actually , if he has already resume some sort of practice and that his coach will join him as soon as he can. I think we have no idea how many incredible difficulties Yuzuru has silently overcome in the last years, after the earthquake occurred.

About Nanami it's curious to notice that even the actual increased POTO TES BV is still based on the top notch jump tecnique she tought him.the 3A-half L-3S is spectacular.
The 4S looked still unstable in 2014 COC practice.

Thanks for sharing your thought Maria Victoria.

As for the video, The 百面相 of Yuzuru in Kiss&Cry moments are fun to see.
Good old days Yuzu with Nanami Abe.
It even shows us how he has grown and to be a man during the past 5 years :D

Welcome and thanks for that precious gif. :) First time for me to see that hug between Nanami and Yuzuru. There was a little awkwardness because he's grown taller than her and she has to reach up to him but you can see the closeness of their bond. Yes, I think one thing nice as a Yuzuru fan (specifically a fan auntie) is witnessing his journey from boy into a man. Proud of him as I'm sure Nanami is too. (BTW and pardon my ignorance, what does 百面相 mean?)

And thank you to all those who shared links, updates, and their thoughts on Yuzuru.

I Agee! I think what Hanyu really needs to learn us to say "no" to JSF when they want him to do all those ice shows and commercials. His career, and practice sessions are much more important than the shows. The JSF wants him to win so they should realize that he needs enough time to practice and prepare for the new season. I think all those shows and commercials have burnt Hanyu out. He looked physically tired at the COC and also during both his SP and FS. I pray for him to take things slow rest and regroup. The NHK is two weeks away if he plans on competing he needs to listen to Orser, the doctors, and his mother. His health is more important.

I think 百面相 means the "various faces" of Yuzuru in the K&C.

Thanks Becki. Great to see you posting again here. See what you have started: this thread will hit the 800 mark soon. :)

Not some good news at all, JSf said they have no responsibility about what happened at CoC, they blame Orser for what happened. I don't know if this is true. My friend told me briefly about the content, can any Japanese poster help me with this: http://zasshi.news.yahoo.co.jp/article?a=20141117-00000003-pseven-spo

OK, will wait for verification (remembering the "news" about Mai Asada's engagement: disapp:...)

It looks like a old Japanese Coach, Shirota Noriko (looks like he trained Miki Ando and Shizuka Arakawa) said that Orser should have done more.

The article saids that JSF is being questioned in why ther was no doctor, why Yuzuru need it to be treated by a US doctor, why didn´t they stop him. ETC.

IMHO JSF looks like is trying to blame Borser.

EDIT.

If I remember correctly, some Japanese posters pointed out about weeks ago that in the http://zasshi.news.yahoo.co.jp/ anyone can post, a freelance, so I´m taking this one with a grain of salt.

I hope that´s this doesn´t bring trouble to Yuzuru and Borser.

Oh no, Orser did all his best to advise Yuzuru. He even said it's not the time to be a hero. Ir anything it's Yuzuru's decision, no one can stop him except JSF doctor who was not sent there. Oh please let's hope that this is just some gossip. I don't want anything negative happened between Yuzuru and Orser.

This could be just gossips. It says in the article that Yuzu changed his coach to BOrser without discussing with the federation. I vaguely remember in an interviewed that BOrser said JSF contacted him about coaching Yuzu, and so he asked for Javi's approval or something like that. It also says in the article that the reason why Yuzu was alone in the Kiss & Cry in 2014 World was because he said no to JSF for accompanying him there. Frankly I don't quite believe what it says in the article is true.

Truthfully, I think that article is just trying to gain the general public's attention by writing something like that; where's the proof? (right?) :frown: Hanyu is the center of attention these days, so I guess the random articles follow (but some are useful, just not this one).

I would pay absolutely zero attention to this article. I don't know who can put up an article on Yahoo but just like many posters have pointed out, this article is just trying to gain attention by creating controversy surrounding the boy in the spot light. Since many were criticizing/questioning his decision to skate, the articles is saying that JSF denied having the authority to stop him from competing and that it is the coach's job. It went on further by quoting dubious sources (staff of JSF) and citing examples that make no sense at all. I think it is trying to pitch Hanyu-san and Orser against JSF for some reason.

Again, I don't see any truth in this article at all.

Well, if that article is true then they better not be blaming Orser. He's a coach, not a doctor. He didn't spent years in medical school. He spent most of his entire life dedicating himself to figure skating. As a coach, his job is nothing more than to advise his students and help them improve. He did had his say for Yuzuru not to skate, but of course Yuzuru insisted anyways (let's not forget how stubborn Yuzuru is too, so coach Noriko shouldn't point the finger at Orser). All Orser could do that time was advise him to skate slowly, and be more careful for the sake of his health. The question is more like: "Why was there no Japanese doctor there for their Japanese skaters?" I'm pretty sure JSF can afford it. With the many success of their skaters and the sold-out shows throughout this year, I think it's safe to say they're one of the most richest skating federations out there right now.

IIRC there was an official statement about JSF hiring Orser via JOC money in 2012, I think it was posted in this thread probably after Sochi.
