Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

I also worry that he is suffering from post-concussion syndrome. Only Yuzuru knows what symptoms he has and I doubt that he is one to complain about them to anyone. It would be typically Japanese to point to physical injuries such as the injuries to the legs as being the main problem and not mention problems stemming from the brain. I hope that I am wrong.
I will feel so much better if Yuzuru skates clean programs fearlessly and with complete confidence at the GPF in Barcelona. Then I will know that everything is all right.

Thank you so much Geo1 for your reply. This is what I thought based on what I know about Japanese culture, which btw, I greatly admire. I do think though that his fear of the warmup and his lack of confidence show he would benefit from counseling which in my experience is very helpful. I understand this probably will not happen in Yuzu's case. I agree with you entirely that as fans we need to see him skate without fear in Barcelona to know that he's back to normal.

It's only Saturday evening here in the U.S., but HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY Yuzu!! :hb::party2::party2:

On another note: Speaking of “RICE is the food of life for Japanese people.” in the interview,
I just remembered the episode. When I went to Florida with my bf, It was happened that about 5 days later,
Our heads finally became full with thoughts of Japanese foods, like “rice, miso, natto, rice, miso, rice please~”.
Besides, I was knocked out by the time difference at the same time and I couldn’t get over it until the end of travel after all.
not to mention that as soon as we arrived at the airport in Japan, we rushed into one of the Japanese restaurants there.
It is obvious that I cann’t live no more than 10 days without rice and miso! (wa-shoku) :laugh:

The best holiday I ever had was a month in Japan. No matter where we ate, or at what time of the day, there was usually a rice bowl as side dish available (aside from the sushi etc.). As a huge rice lover, I already try to eat Asian-style, but that was extreme even for me. Loved it! Miss it terribly, too. ;-/

Anyway, happy birthday, Yuzuru... and I hope you don't have to spend your birthday in an airplane!

Your guess is close.:) They called attention to to the movement of his hands and that it matched the rhythm of the music.
