Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Yuzu is in Tokyo , I'm a bit releaved and thanks for the update!!

so no japanese doctor means no legal adult responsability for a MINOR in Japan?

Didn't they stop Yuzu for just a back pain? Why were they so worried about a back pain and not about a double very violent and risky collusion ( the first one with Han and the second with the ice)?
Are you a minor too asking such naive questions? ;) Well, the answers are: TV rating, money for commercials, sponsors, JSF getting share from it... shall I go on?

I can't believe they even want Yuzuru to participate in NHK Trohphy!! At this moment I hope he will take the whole season OFF!!
Money and all I know. But pushing himself too hard is dangerous for Yuzuru. He is still a kid in Japan, why the hell they don't even care about his well-being!!

as long as doctors will say that he is ok, and he will have only some bruises on head, I don't see why he can't compete in NHK that is in 3 weeks, so he will have time to get recover

but skating yesterday was too dangerous, especially that he still went for quads, and clearly couldn't focus as he was off axis and hardly got height

I hope the doctor will say NO. I mean, common!! he has to use wheelchair. He hasn't recovered from his back pain, then he pulled a muscle on his leg!! then the collison!! :bang:
I am afraid the doctor will just say he can practice with adequate training time and we all know there is no "adequate" when it comes to real competition.

Well doctor can't say no, if there are no clear medical reasons, and from physical side there is everything ok . He can only suggest week off rest (depends on situation of course ), but that's all really

We can only judge from behind of monitor. I am sure he will get the best medical cover in Japan so he will be checked very carefully

Surely I'm an adult and the legal responsability about a MINOR is just the opposite of a naive question , of course.

I totally agree with the answers you gave, they are very cynical unfortunately , and it seems Coach & JSF share the same cynical vision about Yuzuru unfortunately ...

If he needs two weeks to recover, the he only have 1 week to train.....which he will train very hard all the quads and stuff...then he will aggravate his body again :bang: I feel he needs to rest longer, maybe skip GP/GPF and just go for world and national

I’m still in shock and very scared to read the news today …

For the japanese laws Yuzu is a MINOR , why did he take the responsability to skate on his teen shoulders ?

Coach didn’t stop him and quickly disappeared after the K&C moment , while Yuzu’s trainer was clearly in trouble to sustain by himself the kid who was crying and not lucid anymore. Is this a normal coach behaviour? Is this skating? Really terrible scenes.

Did you at least watch the footage before starting with your little hatred fit? Orser was right behind them carrying all the various thing (bottles, jacket, plushies, his suitcase...) with the help of the japanese team leader you can clearly see him right after Yuzuru his doctor and the other member of team Japan... also I would like to remember you that what you call "Yuzuru's trainer" is a doctor, so you know he had medical support... gosh I find it ridiculous how
everyone is overreacting, pointing at the coaches and crying: monsters!! wath should have Orser done? whitdrawn Yuzuru against his will?

I think blaming ORser is not good, because he don't have any law force to withdraw Yuzuru. In many sports there is allways medical staff that is allowing athlete to compete or is not allowing.

Agree. And I think Orser surely have been constantly worried over Yuzuru as well. Just image, he was there in the rink. He 's Yuzuru coach. If anything might be the one who was most heavily affected by what happened there aside from Yuzuru's family. To have such a student with that level of stubborness, I think it's too much for him to handle sometimes. Poor Orser. I think he must have nerve of steel to stand all the emotional roller coaster watching his student.

In the article with picture about his return to Japan, it mentioned that he does not have bandage around his head. They pointed that out specifically, which I guess is a good sign.

Three weeks may be enough time to recover from this injury, but definitely not enough to train to be in top shape. Should he compete even if he can't do his best? Is that what sports is about? I don't know anymore.

I can't imagine what his family is going through right now; does his mom usually come to the rink or just stay at the hotel during competition? How incredibly helpless she must felt, in a foreign country no less. Hanyu-kun said he totally takes after his mom, so I know she is very strong too.Keeping them in my thoughts.

Yeah, I mean, he wasn't even sitting with Nam at Kiss & Cry, he was probably with Yuzuru then.

I watched this clip with tears in my eyes.. at 28:30 K&C is over and the coach leaves , Yuzu is crying and his trainer , which is not a doctor, helps Yuzu who ‘s not able to walk and not so lucid, then a lady helps them both visibly in trouble to leave.

In the same clip the trainer cries while is close to Yuzu at the boards.

the lady has the jacket of team japan... Anyway here around 10,30 you can see Yuzu entering backstage with the help of the other two, with right behind them the japaese team leader and just a step or two behind Orser carrying some giant poohs

I've just watch POTO on a big TV screen and it seems to me Yuzu moves his lips like he is singing at the very beginning of the FS and at the beginning of Music of the Night...

Yes he was, even in the mid part of the FS. He truly loves POTO :) . I wish him well, I hope the JSF release a statement soon that all is well and there is nothing to be concerned about. Anyway, I am very happy that he is in Japan already when everything is much more modern. Sorry, there goes my bias against China. But after what we have all seen last night I couldn't help but think that.
