Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Looking all the CMs and his making faces etc. this kiddo can really be an actor...comedy (lotte gum cm) to thriller (amino vital cm)

Thank you echotpe for the photobook information. My stamps have not yet arrived and here is another one, not that I am complaining. :)

Of course you haven't received the stamps collection! The first part of pre-order will be shipping on November 4! It is worth of waiting patiently.

By the way, I am very amused the amazing creation of Japanese fans in tweet today. I vote top three as following:

1 - Lotte XYLITOL Cricket brothers and their coach

(As Lotte's news release video mentioned that Yuzu played a elf role in CM, so we can see different ELF Yuzu! )

2 - little ELF Yuzu sitting on the top of XYLITOL bottle
3 - Big ELF Yuzu holding a lovely genius

I'm sorry but that gum commercial made me  My sides hurt, someone help!

But hey, on the bright side we now know that outfit isn't his POTO costume

I've been a fan of Yuzuru's skating for some time now but I've only recently started to try to get to know Yuzuru off the ice a bit.

I was delighted to discover that he is that funny and pleasant as a person :yay:
Those videos especially are just hilarious!
But can someone explain why on Japanese TV/Video's there are always these little mini screens that show people's faces in the main picture?

The little screen-in-screen is because much of these clips come from shows in Japan that follow a variety format. Many programs, entertainment and even news, use a similar format - that of having notable celebrities, experts, and others on the program to comment on things as they are shown. So these faces you see in the mini screens are there to comment, (over)react, and otherwise tell the audience what to think about what they are showing on the main screen. Variety (and news variety) is a format that is not very popular in the west (at least in the last 20 years or so) but is very popular in parts of Asia.

Thank you very much :)
So they do directly react to the specific video that they are shown in? I always thought that maybe these are like "standard" little recordings of people's reactions that are just put on the screen for whatever pupose

They are watching the video and cameras are recording their expressions. So it's not clips of expressions from the video archives or anything. Personally, I don't see the point of having the little head in a little box in the corner making faces. :)

Yes, he's quite talented! Sorry to be critical, but I just don't like the neckline and sleeves on that costume.
Also I'm not terribly fond of his hair styled that way. But the program is amazing so I'll get over it.

SP costume seems pretty much Yuzu's Mom style to me, and I really like its “ancient and nineteenth-century aura” which matches Chopin's piano melody very well... while the starting and the ending poses are already a masterpiece!!

on the other side the new CM ballet movements , even considered Elvis costume ( Ahhhh!!!), may suggest Yuzu has already started ballet lessons .. :yay:

This is a bit off-topic, but I'm feeling particularly guilty after spending $29 on amazon.jp over the new photobook that's going to be released this week ... I don't know, it's just my wallet has been suffering lately (yet I couldn't help buying the lovely photobook)

Newbiespectator noted in the Comparitive Experiment thread that it looks like Johnny's costume from all the way back in 2001: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuhXOLFzkzU
(that was one heck of a coincidence lol) So it is in fact 'Wier-ish' not Momma Hanyu's style ; )

I'm still sad it's not purple; but I wouldn't be sad if the DOI lights hadn't shown me what could have been >.> Anyway I think its cool. IA it fits the music. It also looks 1000x better when viewed in the same video as the Elvis costume.

I'm also sad it's not purple haha. It looked very nice that way. But the program is lovely, I'm sure I'm going to enjoy it a lot

I think that costume is great for a 16 year old Weir, but not sure it's right for a 20 year old Hanyu. I guess it looks juniorish to me even though it fits nicely with the music. Yes, it seems Momma still has a lot of influence on Yuzu... we'll have to see if she's influenced his Phantom as well.

Well, like most of Yuzuru's costumes, this is once again a tamer/more tasteful version of Johnny's costume. Like NDP didn't go quite as low with the cut. or Etude was sans the excess flappy stuff and netting. All of the glitter and none of the drama.

Maybe this is his mom's influence:laugh:. In this case, sleeves aren't as billowy and the material is different (listen I don't think it was great for 16 year old Weir, but I also didn't like that skate; and I don't think Yuzu's looks too juniorish but a shirt like the time traveller one, or story ex one with less frills would look more mature; I didn't like that it was so baggy at first but it's grown on me, it's different from what he usually wears anyway.).

As for Phantom, did Johnny ever do anything remotely similar? even color-wise; because I think we could make a good guess XD. or since Chopin is Johnny, Phantom won't be.

Eta: Possibilities: 1 1.1 2 3 4 (like ghana) 5 6 and bonus red death 7

I think no. 3 is quite nice :D But I don't know how Yuzuru would look in something like that. I just wish - no more baggy sleeves ;/
