Yes, it's a great way to put it! Yuzu's music sounded really exquisite live, it really had depth that probably can't be entirely transmitted by 192kbps that most broadcasters use.

He probably can hear it just as well on any of his dozen mp3 players that cost $2,000 each. Something we mere mortals could never experience :p

Thank you so much for sharing! I was laughing like crazy when they were taking the on-ice pictures and Yuzuru was like "Who do I take the picture with? With Shoma? No? With Javi? No? So with Shoma? With neither?"

I loved when he threw his bouquet to the crowd XD

Nobody complained because the sound was very good in the arena acutally, no strange effects. In fact, I could hear much more detailes live than on TV, including Yuzu's step sequence.

Fancam's are the last things to be trusted when it comes to sound. Half of the time the effect is as if you threw the device into a revolving washing machine and recorded from there.

I was there myself... I was in row 2 and really got trouble in hearing the music... the low tone doesn't feel good to me at that time...

People have complained that they could not watch Yuzuru's FS fancam on Youtube because of copyright (Thank you Sony Music), a fan has reuploaded it on Dailymotion, please enjoy: http://dai.ly/x3ie9s8

This, *very true*. A bit too much for my taste at times, actually, but I bet it really helped the skaters. Actually, I remember during the first day of practice, someone (no clue who, sorry) made some hand gestures for the music to be turned up a bit.

yes, during the OP, the sound has no issue, but I really thought acoustic device didn't go down enough when it came to low frequency. Maybe it is just me affected by the loud audience claps.....
Anyway good to know others didn't have the same feeling with me..it may just be my problem.

Thank you everyone for the videos and translations. Love the italian FS video, in a chorous both women sound so excited.

Hello guys!
I don't post often, mostly reading (seems like I have a number of pages to catch up), but now just wanted to say "I was there!" :yahoo: Barcelona is very nice city, audience at the arena was great, the whole competition was awesome, men's free was amazing and Yuzu in the Gala finale was like icing on the cake! :rofl2: So the whole event was like one big celebration or early Christmas!)))
I stalked skaters a little (and I'm not sorry))). The first time was on occasion after friday practise - I was just warming up at the sun near arena, after some time I saw a little crowd near Marriot entrance - Orser was giving autographs and taking pictures with fans (and I wanted one too), and at some moment I turned around and saw Yuzu walking like almost at arms reach in front of me (I don't know if he heard the sound of my jaw dropping :jaw::love:), but I didn't ran after him, wanted my photo with papa Orser (he is very kind and patient with fans really), I also didn't see the moment when Tracy Wilson also decided to take picture with us

The next day I waited after practice on purpose))) Patrick was funny, Javi sweet, Shoma too cute for his own good :luv17: and Yuzu was serious Yuzu in competition mode didn't pay attention to the crowd around him. It seems like he totally relaxed only after FS was over and then became like silly funny teenager :rofl2: When he was "dancing" near my tribune during Gala finale it was unforgettably hilarious  like Yzuru's English :laugh2:

Here're some photos made by my friend so please don't post them at other places, later I'll make an album and give a link, but it'll take some time :)

ps: Now I hope that tickets to Marseille won't be too expensive cuz I already want to go)))

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I was sitting in the middle so it could have been different.

So, Yuzu's ISU bio states that he trains 14h/week in low season and 12h/week in high season. Does anyone else feel that's very unlikely? Like, there's no way he'd be in that shape on 2 hours training a day?

that's just on ice training I guess. But it's visible he is doing a lot work in gym right now

I am so obsessed with Star Wars right now (saw it this morning, sigh), it was difficult concentrating on this, but, got it done in the end.

Eurosport Netherlands, LIVE FS
HL Yuzuru Hanyu, the man who is in such good form, who comes from another planet, already skated three world records two weeks ago at NHK, short, long and total, and two days go here in Barcelona he sharpened that world record, his own world record, by another four points. He skated 110 points, everything worked, two different quads, beautiful choreography, gorgeous transitions, and Phew, yes, Orser takes a deep breath. Yuzuru Hanyu.

[no talk during skate]

JP I think we’ve all been able to see that this is figure skating from another dimension, what Yuzuru Hanyu has shown these past few weeks, and if we look at the technical score, then he even improves on his own score form NHK trophy. There he had 118 points, now 120, and there’ll be another 98 or so points for components, so we’re going to see a big, big new world record by Hanyu, and everybody has to scratch their heads and wonder, how is he possibly going to be beaten the coming years? It is not going to happen if he doesn’t make any mistakes himself, because he is invincible. What class, what confidence does he exude, and if I’m honest, I think this is the lesser presentation, there he was more confident (note: ????)
HL: absolutely, he was more into it, it sparkled more, then it was for his home audience in Japan
JP: here he had a quad toe loop where he didn’t land entirely nice (“lekker”), but it didn’t matter, he just added another triple, that, for me, was the high point of the kur, because if you can manage that, wow, then you’re really a legend.
HL: anyone else landing that would not have done anything after it. He just throws his free leg and bam, adds another toe loop without doubt, without hesitation.
JP: Technically so incredibly strong, this Hanyu, but not only that, the kur is just complete, the total package. Here the first quad toe loop, very securely landed, there it was again, then we went to the flip, we’ve let you enjoy it in silence, because we already felt that this was going to be another world record, a spin and a step sequence, everything at the highest possible level.
HL: and many problems in the second half [note: boy, they’re critical, aren’t they?)
JP: he didn’t land well there, was even underrotated there with the quad toe loop, so the score would have to be adjusted downwards, but it isn’t worth mentioning, (HL: no, it isn’t) [note: I guess they changed their minds very quickly, lol] by far far far the best today, and also yesterday (note: well, two days, but who’s counting?), and again this will be a monster score, far above the 300 in the total score.
HL: two weeks ago in Nagano at the NHK trophy he had 216.07 for the FS and 322.40 in total
JP: look here, Brian Orser, his coach, what a moment for him, too.
HL: and in the den of the lion, the country of his closest rival but also his close friend Javier Fernandez. Two weeks in Japan, it was a gift to be allowed to perform like that in his home country, and yes, they’re being fair sportsmen (upon seeing Javier bow to Hanyu in the kiss and cry), lovely
JP: yes, of course Fernandez knows, too, he cannot win, and yes, 219, and 330 total score
HL: three points higher world record, and eight points total world record. Yes, this is just crazy ( lit. “gaat nergens meer over”, this is about nothing anymore, actually a derogatory expression when you think something is so outrageous, it’s past the point of what you can take seriously. I don’t think she meant to say we shouldn’t take the score seriously, though, it’s more like saying it’s just amazing and unbelievable). These are scores that so far outdo all the other skaters, and Orser.
JP: he just cannot believe it, how can you comprehend this, how can you keep doing this over and over again, where is this going to end? But don’t peak too soon, there will be a world championship in March, and then you have to be there again, you have to reload yourself.
HL: it’s only December. I think he would do well to take a fairly long break, after all this madness of the past couple of weeks. JP: Well, what a competition, unbelievable.
HL: Unbelievable indeed.

They ended the coverage by calling the men’s FS legendary. Well, that’s something, I suppose. ;-) and I cannot help but continuing to be amused by the difference in coverage between these Dutch commentators and the British guys. Those guys are just so exuberant, whereas these commentators sometimes just feel like they're commenting on the weather. Sorry, no offense intended towards them, I'm sure they're very good at what they do, as a Yuzu fan, of course, I would just like a bit more enthusiasm sometimes.

Thank you for translating this! :)
