I will be there in Boston to cheer for our hero Yuzuru too. I am from Canada, Montreal, only 1 and half hour by airplane. I want to add that I love all of his costumes, the R&J2 is my favourite, with the blue costume for Etude SP in 2012. Hope to see you soon in Boston.

The main problem was that the admin was never active so the group sometimes was a big mess. I don't like about the new group that admins can delete posts because they think they are offensive and you can't really do much, but it is much more peaceful so I'm ok.

Thanks for the info. They'll delete whatever they feel like though. My post wasn't even offensive which was the weird thing. They claimed it was "off topic" even though it wasn't. But I don't want to harp on it anymore here. There are a number of better places to discuss Yuzu, like here .

Sorry to bring this up, but regarding the "new" group on FB (not so new now, but much better): we have active admins, and sometimes posts are indeed deleted but for good reasons: if they are irrelevant, not related to Yuzu in any way, if it has already been posted before or if it is about a competition without Yuzu participating because an admin always does one general post about it once the competition is done (with a summary of everything that had happened, the results, etc...) and where we can talk about it. Nothing bad about it, just a few simple rules, like how to always credit the author when posting translations, quotes, fan art, etc...
But of course, I don't blame you for wanting to look for other places to talk about Yuzu too. And this fan thread here is also where I enjoy talking about Yuzu aside from the FB page.

simplest rules indeed: correct and reliable information, proper credit of original sources, respect for Yuzuru and all the members. NO SPECULATING ON YUZURU'S PRIVATE LIFE.

(sorry also for keeping the discussion I'll promise it's my last post about it haha). I also like the new group a lot and I personally feel very comfortable there, however I've seen sometimes when admins delete posts that I definitely don't see as offensive and the person that initially wrote it also doesn't understand, so it can be seen as a bit extreme sometimes.
But yes it depends on what you are looking in a group. I prefer it that way even if it has flaws because my god the old group, well sometimes there were big fights when people were attacking each other on a personal level and that was not nice to read

Some people criticize Yuzuru for not pointing his toe, however there's a poster from Fsuniverse saying the kind of boots Yuzuru is wearing (Edea Ice Fly) isn't easy to point toe at all, here is a part of his post:

I cannot point my toe at all in the Risport RF2 Supers I have, or the Edea Concertos. Period. Edea has improved the Concerto by lowering the back a little and padding it, but the Ice Fly is still rather high (this is what Hanyu wears).
Edea is made by the people who used to own Risport, so it doesn't surprise me that the two share some design characteristics (how they look is irrelevant compared to how they "fit," IMO).

In another comment, he said:

I have Risport and Edea boots here... And there is no way you can flex those boots that way... This is why Edea added the padding to the Concerto, they were absolutely horrible until they added that.

I see. That's rather interesting and, indeed, depending on the way boots are made, you can't possibly do some type of movements that easily. I'm not much aware on how fast technology for skater boots evolve. But as long as the skater feels confortable with their boots and is able to reach whatever goal he/she set him/herself with them, some details like pointing your toe can be overlook.
Though, skaters often need to break into new boots during the season, given how often they used them for practices/competitions/etc... I hope one day, there will be boots that will not require that much costly change (blades being a different matter)

I would love to see someone skate to Howl's Movie Castle's theme. I've always thought it was a gorgeous piece of music.

As for toe point discussion, I honestly don't look for it much in men's skating. I'm a Sasha Cohen uber so for her it really mattered to me, but in general I think men achieve very nice positions without it. It's definitely no deal breaker. I don't expect them to have a spiral as good as hers either. I think Yuzu achieves very nice positions, toe point or no toe point. He has one of the best camels IMO.

You know, I never really notice the toe point in men's skating either, unless it is glaringly obvious. What is more obvious and important, to me, is the body line and stretch, and I think Yuzu has improved in that department and continues to do so. I've looked for his lack of toe point, and can't really identify it enough to think it's a big problem, although I do notice his boots which seem like big clunkers. When Yuzu was younger, particularly the 2012/13 season, I noticed his posture, but that was more in the long program, probably because of his stamina difficulties. This year, I haven't noticed posture issues at all, another area he's improved in. In fact, I always thought his posture and stretch was better than most.

Compare that to Yuna Kim and her glaringly obvious issues with toe point. Her feet always bothered me, but i think a big part of that is that it is far more obvious with women because they usually don't wear pants. The best toe point I ever saw in skates was Maia Usova... wow. When it's done well, it really does make an impact.
