Yuzuru Hanyu

We jinxed it with all the 'first time not injured going into worlds!' talk :scard8:

Hmmm...but isn't this the same injury we knew about from Phil's icenetwork article last week? So this new article by Beverley just connects one piece of old info we know already (sore instep) to the reason of the changed layout.

And didn't Phil's article also mentioned the injury has since been healed when he returned to Toronto?

Based on the two clean runthrough yesterday, I still think he is in the best condition he has ever been in comparison to his past worlds :) Of course we will be more calm if he has a better practice today, but unlike the GP series (only 3 days for practice and comp), it will be mighty difficult for him to be in peak form from to day 1 to day 5!

Errrrr, yeah, he IS "human" after all XDDD

I'll also be heading off to Boston tomorrow to cheer for our boy!! Let's channel all the positive energy to him whether you will be close or afar from the venue tomorrow ^_^

Go Yuzu Go!!!

Wow! Strong line of brush, shade, especially his focused eyes! (I guess it’s most difficult part) . Very positive and determined.
I added your work to the list. Thank you!:hap93:

Thank you for your kind words, it's always nice to draw Yuzuru because he has such an amiable and positive vibe/personality.

I still can't get over the fact that the long-awaited men's SP event is happening tomorrow, it's going to be tons of fun to watch! And I'm glad to see that the forum is moving at rapid speed again!

A light note, upon my research on the Boston trip, I came across this beer that was once offered by the famous local brewing company.

Golden Yuzu :agree2: from Samuel Adams : http://www.brewerydb.com/beer/7XWG22

Too bad this seems to be a seasonal beer that they offered couple summers back. It would have been so cool to be able to try this while cheering for our very own golden boy :hap10:

I don't think fans should expect him to be injury free. For elite level athletes who take on so much risk, it is impossible to be injury free. As long as the injury is minor and doesn't impact his training significantly, he would be fine.

i agree with this, especially after watching the men's practice tonight and seeing how hard they fall... :eeking:

Rest assured ladies, Yuzu looked happy and healthy at his practice. Yes, he took a couple of tumbles but many of the guys did. Can't wat to cheer him on tomorrow!! :yahoo:

I just envy you to see him live! Have a wonderful time! :yahoo:

Oh god, hopefully I can survive all this... how much time till the next practice?

I'm very sorry for Yuzu, I believe it's disrespectful to talk about an injury , whatever the injury is, when he himself wants to keep it private .:angry1:

I think so, but Brian might have some reason to tell about that. He is a bright person. Anyway, yuzu seems in good shape this competition. It’s nice.
My concern is the small rink of Boston.. I can’t forget the nightmare of Worlds 2013 SP… He harshly hit onto the ringside. According to an article, JSF alerlted about the small rink in Boston to the skaters in advance, so yuzu’s practiced putting the polls on ice, imaging the small rink.

Anyone who attended practices, on the thread "On site reports" I have seen Karne reporting Yuzu fell on triple axels a lot. No one tweeted about that, I assume she messed up quad salchow to axel ? because Yuzu falling on triple axel is something unusual :)

Yeah, I didn't see anything on him messing on his 3As either. I guess she meant the 4S? Because I'm pretty sure that if Yuzu were to be constantly falling on his money jump, someone would say it on Twitter or something

One thing worries me: how are men going to skate well so late? it's going to be pat 10 pm for the last group... Neither the body nor mind function well so late if you get up at 6 or 7 am...

it's funny we came to a point that fall on 4S in practice is now worrying for him

Actually I am more worried about 4t3T pop in runthrough more that 4sal falls..... that combo is crucial in sp , he does it as a second jump so if something goes wrong he can't add it :sad46:
