Yuzu's Olympic title was won with a subpar free skate. What Yuzu has got to prove is that he is, in fact, the best skater in the world and that is proven with great performances over other competitors at Worlds and Olympics, not at GP events, even the final, not even with breaking records.

Sorry, Yuzuru still has something to prove.

Totally disagree. What should he prove any more? He’s a genuine Olympic champion. True, his FP performance was not good. But the others’ were the same. It’s a sport and he won according to the rule.
If you want to say yuzu has something to prove, how about "Kristi" Yamaguchi”s Gold medal at 1992 Olympics? I don’t see it live though, it's often said she fell and wasnt good, but the others also fell and she took the title.
Of course, i know there are some criticisms as you say. But this is yuzu fan thread, not the place to disparage him. We come here to cheer up for yuzu, talk about him , enjoy his iamges, shere information, etc. with fun and love. Would you mind refraining from coming here just to judge him?

That last picture...he looks adorable :biggrin: I love seeing him have fun at the Gala rehearsal with all the skaters.
How I wish we knew where these pics come from, looks like the same photo book where the picture of him making Pooh kiss the ice is in.

Actually she is free to post her opinion because it's not bashing. I like that in this thread we can write our different opinions and I would like it to stay that way. We can discuss with respect ;)

History lesson: no one has ever won GPF 3 times in a row. No current men have ever skated clean back to back in 2 consecutive competitions only apart 2 weeks with 10 quads landed in total.
Yuzuru did. He made the history.

I'm not sure how much harsher the guidelines will be...for that I'll break out the :popcorn: but I agree that we will likely see the scores toned down a bit next season only to erupt at Mt Olympics :)

I'm waiting for the gods on Mt Olympics to rain down perfect PCS on us and see people faint from the heat :devil::dev3:

Of course I am also hoping that Yuzuru will skate amazing and the judges will give him perfect PCS. He was so close at GPF in the SP. Judges could have thrown a couple of more 10s his way :biggrin:

I have shared the translation of the chart somewhere in the edge. I forgot the thread I made. I also made a thread in FS universe and some posters have contributed some very good insight.
I will try to convert the part about Yuzuru into English soon.

I was able to read the translation of this blog in a Japanese blog. I find it interesting! This blogger is awesome. I hope someone will translate it into English.
