I totally agree with yuzu. You hit the nail on the head. Mansai has something special, since he’s trained himself in his hard circumstances. His family has passed on the traditional art from generation to generation. Yuzu wanted to see him since he was younger.
Further, the place where they talked is the nou stage. The collider at the left shows the boundary between this world (live) and the next (death). The place itself has something divine and mysterious. Yuzu must have absorbed so many worthy things and shall cultivate them inside himself from now on.

Oh I didn't know that! It's a very fascinating pieces of information. This is what I love about the japanese traditional art, it has mystical and divine elements in it. Now, I truly appreciate they did the interview there. The more you know :)

According to this article on icenetwork Yuzuru is scheduled to return to Toronto this week. Hope it is this week, not last week or the next one, you know. Anyways- have a safe and quick journey, Yuzuru!
Quote telling us about his planned stay in Toronto for the upcoming first part of the season: "Barrie prepares for "mayhem": Many were surprised when Hanyu elected to compete in Barrie, instead of his regular "B" event, the Finlandia Trophy. Last month, Japan's Olympic champion held a media day at the Cricket Club that drew 55 Japanese journalists.

"After he announced his plans, the phone was ringing off the hook for tickets to the event," Orser said. "Book your room early, Japanese fans are coming. It's going to be mayhem."

Orser added that Hanyu, who arrives at the Cricket Club this week, will train far more in Toronto this season than he did for the 2014-15 campaign.

"He will stay right through until Skate Canada, and stay after Skate Canada, and then we will go to NHK," Orser said. "I will have a lot more time with him, which was kind of missing last year."

Thank you for the article! Glad to know he'll soon resume his training. Though the last part confused me: after SC, he'll remain in Canada and then go to NHK. Or will he go to Japan after SC all the way until NHK?

I understand he'll stay in Toronto after SC.

As I understand it: Yuzu comes to Toronto this week, then he stays in Canada the entire time (training and taking part in competitions held in Canada) before he has to go to Japan for NHK. That would be fantastic, honestly. Then he goes to Europe for GPF, goes home for Nationals and I really hope comes back to Canada in mid-January to get ready for Worlds.

Finally the news I have been expecting, thank you Mama Orser and Sorrento for saving from IHYS. As I assume this interview was given last week , during US Classics and Orser was waiting for Yuzuru that week, it makes me think that he might be already in Toronto.

The Mansai x Hanyu talk event was a dream come true for me and probably the best thing I saw during this off-season besides his ice shows
I was expecting it at one point in the future, but not this soon! Now I wonder if he'll change the opening pose slightly after this.

This talk is a true masterpiece. I have no words to explain my impression. Mansai’s words are simple, but they are really deep and make the point. Those words made me thrylled. I know well that Yuzu firmly accepted those words from yuzu's facial expression and response… Further, Mansai was really considerate for that yuzu.
He shall make his skating overall and each element more impressive and meaningful.

Thank you so much for sharing this.

This is very precious. Mansai Nomura really has different aura and Yuzu is really perceptive at such young age. With my rusty Japanese, I can pick up a little bit from the conversation. It's very deep and really impressive to see them together. I swear, I feel there are some similarities between these two, but I can't put my finger on it.

Really glad Mansai Nomura shares his knowledge and teaches Yuzu some of his movements. Imagine Yuzu incorporates these graceful movements into his Seimei program :cheer2: What an honour

Agreed

hallelujah! i think it's safe to say that apart from the start of the season, this is what we've all been waiting for :cheer2: the training and overall environment in canada does him well, it's exciting to think that he will be super prepared entering this season's competitions. ugh i can't wait for the slayage , prayer circle tho that injuries would be kept at bay.

also, i don't know why but i find the imagery of "Book your room early, Japanese fans are coming" hilarious.

At least we know that the organizers are aware of the mayhem that is going to be at Autumn Classic so they won't be caught too off guard. :)

I just finished watching the talk between the two men, and if I understood correctly it was a meeting that Hanyu-san initiated himself. Sounds like he will have some thinking to do regarding his opening and finishing poses, among other things; you can tell he really does look quite nervous!

This is fantastic news! I'm so happy he'll be in Toronto soon and will be staying there to train with no more trips to Japan until late November. I'm feeling really good about his GP events this season. Go Yuzu!

Seems like everything is going relatively well so far, which is a big sigh of relief for me  Can't wait to see him back on competitive ice :cheer:

Thanks for the translations and links everyone!

Much appreciation to yuzuland for translations

Thank you so much for the link to translation! What I've noticed is that Yuzuru was really in panic at first, all those phrases sounded like "OMG, OMG" in between the lines. Then- I hope he has enough time for emphasizing choreo changes, God, the time is running fast, I really wish he has a solid performance at his firts event. This actually stresses me a lot that he still wants to change so much.
And this part just made me laugh: "M: The spirituality aspect of it is very important. The evil judges…maybe there are not evil but
Y: Evil, evil"

Then- I hope he has enough time for emphasizing choreo changes, God, the time is running fast, I really wish he has a solid performance at his firts event. This actually stresses me a lot that he still wants to change so much.

I'm having the same stress as you too on choreo changes, on top of the difficult transitions and increase tech content :hopelessness:. Even Mansai said "Hopefully [my advice] will not bring you any harm", probably from looking at Yuzu excitement and talking about choreo change :drama:.

Mansai is a wise man. Yuzu is very young and eager to do his SEIMEI as authentic as possible. But he has to realise that figure skating has the rule that is basically above the other arts he wants to input in his skate. Like for example- that drums sound at the end of the program- I can clearly hear the sound he makes with his foot and the hands move- they do resonate and give that sound he wants to achieve to be in line with SEIMEI authentic dance. So if Yuzu decides (God forbid) to put his foot on the ice a bit later than the sound of the drums comes- it might be a deduction cause he finishes after the music ends. And it would not make sense whatsoever by the way. He already got that sound very resonating (Yuzu, please hear me somehow, will you). As per the starting pose- I had a laughter too on Mansai telling him it looked like flamenco- it did not to me but if Mansai says it does- I just have to give his words a credit. Also- the jumps technique. Dear stubborn Yuzuru, please jump according to figure skating base knowledge that your body has naturally incorporated through the years of trainings, don't try to impress us with extra heavy landing resulting in a loud sound on your second jumps in the combos. You are not going to perform in the theatre, you still compete on the ice.;)
I basically am even more scared about the SEIMEI program now than it was before. Because with so much of an intellectual and traditional input there are only two ways in which this program might result: a masterpiece or "what was that?". But potentially it will be a hot mess, consisting of a hot looking Yuzuru in a messy program. At least that what I expect at his first competition.
