You think they'd reward higher GOE in case 4T3T is successful so he'll have an advantage performing it instead of 3Lz3T?

I don't know what judges think exactly. Different judges value different skills. But I would think, since there is no direct reward for doing difficult combos, judges tend to reward the extra difficulty either in GOE or PCS.

It remains the exact same BV, but the 4T3T is regarded as a much more difficult combination than a 3Lz3T.
Same question to you: you think thus his GOE could be more impressive? If he goes for 4T3T?
Oops, you replied.

I really don't think it would make much of a difference, Yuzu's 4T is one of the best in the field and the judges reward him with very good GOEs even now that it's his solo jump. I think only Patrick gets better GOEs on it when he is on and not by much. It would be very difficult to get more GOEs out of his 4T solo or combo, than what he already gets now. Same thing with PCS, his PCS are already reaching the limit of the score, if he were to land a 4T3T, I don't know how much more they could rise.
Edit: yeah, I did, but I replied again nevertheless

I don't know about 4T3T. He seems to land it but it does not look same mesmerizing as a solo 4T. The new intro to it although more difficult does not look that impressive to me.

If he doesn't have any trouble with 3lz3t, doing solo 4t and 3lz3t most likely will give him higher GOE than doing 4t3t and solo 3lz. But if he has trouble with 3lz3t, i.e. falling, then doing 4t3t and solo 3lz is definitely better than doing solo 4t and 3lz3t, and it might give him a small boost in PCS too.

He's got, quoting the B.ESP guys "a lovely running edge" coming out of the 4T, so that part is gone if he does a combo. The soft landing is one of the best things of his solo quads, I think. I personally like his solo quads better :)

Thanks, I like to read long explanations. :)My concern with Yuzu's 4T3T is that when he lands that 3T there is no long fluid exit from it, like he has to cut it short, there's no usual flow to it. So to me it does not look same impressive as a single beautiful (God I love his solo 4T!) quad.

There is one extra benefit of doing 4t3t. If he wants to do 2 quads in the SP in the future, he will have to do 4t3t. So doing 4t3t now is preparing for the future layout and he gets more time to practice 4t3t in competitions.

To be honest I don't see him giving up 3lz3t combo, his axis on lutz is fixed already and still there is plenty of time to fix toe too :)

True, true. I kinda doubt he'll go for it (I'd rather him work on adding 4Lo to his LP to Olympics so that he has "3 caliber quad LP") but who knows what is the Big Plan of Mr. Hanyu.;)

True, but 4T out of steps is also more difficult than 3Lz out of step.

Now the question, what's more difficult: 4T out of steps or 4T+3T without the steps requirement?
(I mean, in general, Yuzu would do 4T+3T out of steps anyway, should he opt for that solution, and the enforcement of the out-of-steps rule is kinda soft anyway :P)

I just tried to imagine the last group at Worlds (or GPF) all doing 4T3T. That would be a bit boring to watch, what you think? I mean- who can land it: Kovtun, Ten, Chan, Javi (???), Yuzu, Menshov (maybe, if he's lucky enough to get to the final group).

Some skaters are doing 4T3T because they can't do 4T out of steps, the reason for that is they need to setup themselves before 4T
But let's be honest some skaters doing solo 4T in short are faking steps and they are going away without negative GOE for that but that for other talk ;)

I think his plan for the Olympics is 2 quad SP and 3 quad LP. I don't think he will only skate to 1 quad SP for the next 3 seasons.

Another possibility is: as soon as he skates a clean Chopin with 3lz3t, he upgrades the layout to 4t3t.
