Just looked at one of those pro photos of him at the ceremony which really show the costume up close. I had no idea it looked like that. Wow. Just... how long does it take to create that costume, with the countless little colored squiggly lines and thingies and whatnots? What a crazy costume. Love love love it!

lol, I wish Yuzu did accept, tho. :laugh2: But yeah, he really didn't notice the hand, and Sean noticed he didn't notice too. :p

I did too just to see the lovely-to-be moment :laugh2: hahaha yeah I know2 just a jab since the outcome would be pretty funny XD

actually he left out one move in competition from practice, a turn around in the air after 3lo, I guess it's because he did combo and had no time, but I am sure by GPF he will nail this program

Ahh I hate when I wake up after a competition night, manage to read some of your comments, but don't have time to see the program before going to school ! :disapp:
Fortunately, a small break during the class allowed me to watch it and here are my impressions:
First, I really like the costume it fits the program perfectly, and even if close and still, it looks a bit awkward, nevermind, the purpose is to look good in motion and I think it DOES. Great job from the designer. (except I find the purple details, a bit *too* purple, but as said, details. ;) )
Overall, it was a good FP, for a season start. Shame about the 3rd quad, I really hope he will put the combo on the first 4T. But after all, in all men attempting 3 quads, how many land the three ? I believe he will later in the season. I was surprised by the mistakes on the 3A. I don't see why he only did 2T after the first, which wasn't that bad. Maybe his left shoulder was too far behind, so he could not (or prefered not) go for a 3T ?
The combo added to the loop was brilliant. Incredible how he manage not to lose any point, and rearrange the program in a few seconds. Few skaters are able to do it that well.
That said, I'm totally in love with this program. I can't wait to see it later when it will be even better

I thought third quad was perfectly round but they marked it as downgrade
Both of his quad in SP and LP were rounded. But ok they marked it as it it, we can do nothing. I hope Yuzuru will change his mind about 4T2T, move it to the first half.

What I noticed at ACI, is that the judges were kind of generous with GOEs sometimes. Not that he didn't deserve them, but giving him 0 on the second 3A was very kind. ;) At least, it's not a problem, as far as the extreme GOEs are removed for the average. On the contrary, the tech panel was harsh. I can get the rotation of the 2nd 4T of the free was questionable, even if I don't see very well (their slow-mo, it actually not slow at all ), but in the SP, it was surely excessive.

WOW what a beautiful program seriously

I really like it too! At first when Yuzu first revealed the SEIMEI music in the summer, I didn't know what to expect. But now after watching the program completed at competition, it is so well done —filled concise movements, expresses a captivating intenseness and spreads a cool mystical atmosphere to the audience.

Edit: I must say I love this seimei program! Usually for me, watching fs is so scary that it feels like forever before it ends, but for seimei, I got a feeling that it ended suddenly and so quickly! (like I couldn't get enough of it!)

I really have so much respect to this beautiful boy. He has ice in his blood, he thinks so fast in just seconds. If I was in this kind of situation I would be paralyzed. Good Yuzuru!! No perfect or clean program but after Romeo and Juliet 1 this could be my second favorite FS.

I agree that time flew by super fast when I was watching the program and because of that aspect, I like the overall pacing/flow of the program. It seems that Yuzu has successfully nailed the 4S now and despite mistakes on some jumps, I enjoyed watching the performance overall. Just wow! He really was born to skate, with ice in his blood as @kokoro_ai wrote.

Hi guys!
So I'm late but yea finally watched the free. Love that starting pose and how he exhaled while puffing his cheek (isn't that cute haha idk if he's going for fierce but definitely still cute in my eyes). So glad that he managed that salchow but eehh on the quad. I think the difficult transition affected his take off too and he's a little slanted on the air.
I personally like that stsq a lot but apparently it's only lv 2? I love how the gliding backward/forward on ice matches the music. Unfortunate about the 2nd quad, I thought he got it, just like yesterday, his right leg/knee betrayed him. I hope he's fine. I see it somehow affected his 3A too.. but good job moving the loop-3sal combination into the next jump (3lo).
The chsq is so captivating I love it! And the final spin and how the music goes with his spin is another reason why this program is so well made. I'd also like to say how his transitions aren't just transition.. it serves purpose and not blatantly just put there for the sake of 'transition'.

Overall job well done Yuzu! He's worked hard and sure he'd want to fix whatever issue it was and be more ready for the next competition.

About the new, upgraded outfit. It's not bad, really.. if anything, those gold-light green embroideries (or whatever it is) makes it more striking without being too much. Well I see how it may look a little too much when he's just striding or walking because the pattern and bling all over the place but it's actually perfect for skating. I think it looks pretty on him. The design of it is nice too.. that belt-like thing on the waist form his long torso nicely and gives that nice effect when he jumps (like if wearing a skirt lol)

I found him so cute in k&c he seemed pretty eager to share with Brian and sort of discuss about the skate. He said he needs more speed into the second toe.. and I think he said 'but...' after but not sure what he said after the score's out. His sitting posture is so.. dainty :o:

Last but not least, I knew I'm gonna love the program even from the ice show and it didn't disappoint. Let's hope it's only gonna get better from here. :agree:

Oh and I wish there's a video of the medal ceremony. It seems cute from the snippet I've seen. How Yuzu stepped up slowly to the podium  and then the moment when Sean (sort of) offered him his hand to climb down I thought that was cute. It'll be awkward if Yuzu saw it and confused on what to do

you are not alone
makes him look like he's covered in magical blingy moss (don't know if that interpretation makes any sense, but it makes me think of a forest)

I have nothing against the costume. It's so sophisticated and the "blings" are actually attractive (so good job to THEM). But what bothers me about it is the DESIGN. I'm not joking when I said in my post (a few pages back) that I want to see...HIPS.

Seriously...I do. :o:
The previous design, though not so BLINGY fits our Hanyu so well. Why? Because in Yuzuru's case, its not the costume that makes his programs look ENCHANTING. It's his body's movement that effortlessly flows with the music and captivates us. That's why I think, his costumes should FIT his body because it's his greatest asset (thank god they don't allow baggy pants in Men's Figure skating). I've seen both his practice where he "worked" those foxy moves and then the FS where I saw nothing but the loose part of the blouse(HE LOOKED AND MOVED BETTER WITH THOSE UNDER ARMOURS). Such a waste:disapp:
And the V2 looked "heavy" on him.

But of course..this is just my opinion. Please don't hate me.:ohwell:

It has now evolved to Y___Z___ Hanyu. Anything goes as long as it starts with a Y and has a Z somewhere in there :laugh2: Soon the Z will disappear...then the Y and we'll be left with random sounds

Oh God...please don't let it reach the point where it becomes YAVIER ZERNANDEZ. (The Javier FERNANDEZ of JAPAN) has already happened at WC2015 small medal ceremony:ohwell:!)

strategically speaking, I personally think putting the combo into the first quad toe is a better choice, in case you missed the combo in the first quad, you still got the second quad to try it, so there's a better chance to avoid having two solo quad toes due to accident, but I'm an amateur so what I said might not be true though, not too sure.... I remember in the last worlds, Denis missed the combo for his first quad toe and in the next quad toe he added the combo back, so that's why I'm saying this.
