Thanks for the video! They used to quite critical about Yuzu but now they seem to love him. By the way, Dave's conversation with Nam made me laugh so hard.

I rarely watched them but the part with Nam is hilarious. I laughed out loud in public!

According to some Japanese fans, Yuzu's footwork in Seimei traces out the Yin and Yang pattern. And his step seq closely resembles the steps in some spell that Abe no Seimei is well-known for.
I'm still new to this so please correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't think it needs that much research in order to appreciate his LP, I actually didn't watch the movie at all (although I plan in doing so) and I'm not knowledgeable about japanese culture by any means but I loved it to pieces. People will love it or hate it according to their pre conceived tastes, knowing the background won't make them love it, maybe just understand from where it comes from but it doesn't mean liking it. I was very surprised that people thought that it could be difficult for western people to appreciate a japanese themed FS. I honestly think it's just an outside of the box program, it being japanese doesn't make it that much harder for western people to appreciate. It actually makes it more intriguing especially because If you're a fan of figure skating as a sport you already have an affinity for arts and generally exotic stuff; it's figure skating after all, a sport with laces and sequins.

For me, despite being Asian and aside from my favorite Japanese singers/bands, I usually feel more comfortable with Western music since when I was a child. where I was immediately hooked on one of the songs by Billy Joel without knowing anything about it/him, even really didn’t know what language he was singing in.

I also agree with Sorrento’s opinions about that.

And I fortunately found the SEIMEI music (cuts) of his program is extremely appealing. I feel appreciate he chose the very Japaneseish music this season.:agree:

Yuzuru has Rilakkuma bear as a wallpaper for his tablet And Kikuchi-san's trying to get the right angle of it.

Watching the medal ceremony fancam and there were a lot of cute moments indeed.
When they're looking around for the flag and ended up looking at (I assume) fans' banner thingy instead haha. I wonder why didn't they prepare it beforehand.
Also, the podium is so small they had to kind of huddle around to get their pics taken and then at first only Yuzu got the flower up front then Sean got his up front and later Nam also did the same
Then the moment when Nam apparently felt satisfied that he's taller than Yuzu now (Yuzu refused to admit) lol
Of course I can't miss the 'gentleman Sean' and 'potential lady-like Yuzu' moment
*cue Yuzu waves* *everyone waves too* xD
Why were they smelling the medals btw lol was it somehow sprayed with something fragrant or maybe dipped in maple syrup??
Lol at Sean taking his phone and doing selfie he's adorable! And then he just left forgetting the flower bouquet leaving Yuzu with two of it

At 1:15, you can see Yuzuru was warming up and he saw Doug Leigh, Brian Orser's former coach, so Yuzuru ran to the old coach and bowed to him. How sweet!

2 weeks and Orser said they are still looking for the right footwork for the quads ..I wonder if this 2 weeks will be enough, Kind of worried a bit about 4T in lp and Lz combo in sp.

Yeah, two weeks might be short… But it’s good his training rink is about an hour from Barrie and the moving and the adjustment is easier than in other competitions like Finlandia. It’s always our concern if he can get more training time at Toront and avoid lack of practice. Jeff watched his performance at Barrie, so he may have given some advice about Lz combo, the entry of it, etc.

Saw Yuzuru's new FS and FINALLY, I think this is the LP everyone was looking for. it's a great vehicle for him. Such a shame that he's going for 3 quads though, there's no need for that. He sets too high expectations for himself and can never live up to that, his performances could be much more.

I was rewatching for the 100th time the edit of the clean program done with the two practice sessions and goodness, the 1st step sequence is so beautiful. especially the moment after 1:49min 1:49min when he does his kind of déboulés all tough and warrior-like and then reaches with his arm so beautifully. I nearly cried because it is so perfect, and he is so into it :') The bent-legs-then-extended-spread-eagle in between the two quads is also giving me life.

Setting high expectations is the mark of champions. Even if they fall short of their lofty goals, they end up achieving more than if they'd set low and "realistic" expectations. And with Yuzuru, I think he actually can reach his goals...!

Nice that you have a different opinion, yep, time will tell. For me champions set high expectations that are also realistic. It's not like 2 quads (with a newfound 4S consistency) and 2 3A, difficult transitions, plus pulling of a great choreography aren't incredibly high expectations already and able to knock off any other competitor if done consistently and the most important, leaving behind very memorable performances that can put a lot of other champions to shame and build a legacy. He's incredibly talented on the jump departament but the other areas of his skating are just as strong so his approach to jumps is just frustating sometimes. It leaves a feeling of 'what could have been ...'. Anyway, I'm happy they found a program that suits him perfectly, if he deliver it will be the bomb. I'll wait for it, now that he has 2 strong and well received programs I can't wait to see him at worlds.

Also, I remember that Yuzu helped him to go through stuff in podium time and I imagined Yuzu being talkative and excited in explaining all of that I feel like I can see his face haha

I really like that ending pose a lot. What's interesting is that he'd end up with that fierce look and closing move but then one second later he did that bashful smile and I'd go aaawee cute :

And yes I think two weeks would be sufficient to fix whatever it was troubling him. It may sound short but I think it's manageable. I think that footwork is pretty tricky for him and somehow he has yet to figure out the way of executing it AND taking off for quad perfectly (I believe he said he needed more speed into it and I guess he didn't have that much space/time to go into it as well). I believe they'd find a way to go around with it.

Fingers crossed for everything to go well for him!

Thanks! I watched several times where you point out. These movements are inspirational. Further, the bolded part's movements are perfect with music. so cool!

Her report really tells us yuzu worked nice in the local competition and was a good reference.

She writes in detail about the last pose. Yeah, I cannot imagine more than that. As Mansai said, Hanyu Yuzuru is there. We feel his existence firmly.
