Yuzuru Hanyu: 2015-16 Season

I laughed a lot Alia. He spent a film in my head with a beautiful happy ending.
We are fools for artistic skating and love our dear Yuzuru.

Alia, that is some dedication :hap36:

Yuzuru didn't start the season by winning SC but he did start it in the way a lot of us had expected/predicted. I'm sure the season will only go up from this point on. All he needs is more training and stamina.

I wondered also why he or more his mom accepted that offer at first, too. And the I see the shooting scene is used for TV asahi program which is kind of a teaser for the GP series broadcast and I thought "Ah, it must be a kind of deal beween TV Asahi, publisher and JSF". Not that I dislike the idea though. JSF is promoting the sports and they are trying to leverage on his popularity. They have good Hanyu markting team. :laugh15: Selling broadcasting rights is important for them and audience rating is important for TV and popularity of Hanyu or Mao is key for the raing.

Thanks. It does make sense I think, since as firal quoted his words, Yuzuru had said that he is not an idol but an athlete, so I was kinda confused as well.
Though I still wonder that he really needs to gain his popularity even more? :roll9:

On a side note:
:taunt: <----- This is just so evil and hilarious.

OMG guys we are a hilarious and crazy bunch. I was laughing and tearing re-reading the posts for the last weekend, I've captured some below (there were a lot more) and the amount of emojis used are too many to fit in here. I hope by now our heart rate and blood pressure are back to normal.

Haha you're so cute, Alia! compiling those quotes must take quite a lot of time!
I remember not wanting to (well, actually because of the time difference, I couldn't really..) follow the updates online or streaming live because my weak heart can't really handle. :slink: and the next day I have to spend the morning catching up haha.
Luckily (or.. unluckily), it'll be different for NHK's. Meaning if I'm available to stream online, I'd be among the crazy bunch flooding the thread with some rambly stuff lol. :dance2:

p.s. my status (idk what it's called) was still 'tripping on the ice' (or something like that) like yesterday I think and now it has changed into 'rinkside' but I think I had that one before? idk why it went back to rinkside now.

I have a question. Some figure skaters such as Nam and Javi are managed by IMG. Is Yuzuru also managed by a company or is he fully represented by JSF?

Does anyone remember which magazine the photos of Yuzuru playing in autumn leaves come from?

The Anan magazine seems like such a collectable item that I want to purchase another magazine from amazon.jp while I'm at it (better deal shipping-wise). The only thing I own that is Yuzuru-related is his photobook, so buying a few magazines wouldn't hurt.

Patrick skating commentary channel on YouTube recently made a video commenting on yuzu's wtt poto performance!!!
I really recommend this channel as Patrick always makes interesting and fumny comments!
Yeah. Most of the time, I really enjoy Patrick's commentaries. Yuzuru's POTO performance is part of his Warhorse Wednesdays series :D I think he commented on Yuzu's Parisienne Walkways and his R+J 1.0 performance at Worlds. I welcome more of his commentaries on Yuzu's programmes in the future.

I have a few moments on my hands now and I found this link on tumblr. You can search for meaning and distribution of surnames across the globe. Not sure how accurate it is but I typed in 'Hanyu' for fun and it came back:

75 incidents, prevalent in Japan and density in New Zealand.

I knew 'Hanyu' was not such a common surname but I didnt know it was this uncommon. In comparison, 'Uno' came back with 75,903 and 'Murakami' with 339, 355.

I don't know, but Mao has her own office or agency(she owns it). Yuzu's case it's always mentioned as "Hanyu side" versus JSF or Requiem's Mr. Matsuo said he recieved a call from Hanyu's office. So maybe now he or his family hired someone to take care of various chores and registered as a agency for tax reason, I assume. Still as a competitive figure skater he has certain obligations he must do for JSF, I am sure.

Thanks for the information. I know all Japanese skaters are under JSF and that is set in stone but I wonder with all these endorsements and appearances, who manages them all. But as you have said, he/his family may have hired someone instead of going for the big management companies.
