I left early from work to watch his SP , and the cried out in the room alone, it is very wise for me to watch this at home, otherwise all my team members will see me crying like a idiot...

Remember the time when people were sad that we wouldn't get a new SP but that he would keep Chopin for another season  second season short programs seem to become a new specialty. So, new SP next season and then keep it for the Olympics? works for me if he's developing a pattern

What an awesome SP from Yuzu, well done :peace:

Channeling positive energy and cheering to Yuzu for FP tomorrow :ghug:

This thread surely moves fast

Finally a clean SP from Hanyu. Amazing that his quad salchow is so stable now, considering it was like a choreographic fall during the Olympic season. That look on his face when he finished, could probably kill someone.

Hoping for a clean LP soon. If he is as focused and calm as he was today, we might see it tomorrow :cheer:

Two-time Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko said performance in the short program of the Japanese skater Yuzuru Hanyu, which was the result of 106.33 took the lead in the Grand Prix in Japan.

"I think he bowled well, in the same breath! There was a mad energy, everything was decent: great rotation, excellent slip, great emotional component. This is his best rental history.

He is only 20 years old. This peak shape of a skater in the men's figure skating. I very often skate with him in Japan at the demonstrations, and he makes three different quads and learn quad lutz "- said Plushenko.

Marina (my friend) has just translated the same, it sounds clearer here:

The Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko made a comment about a world record breaking short program of Japanese skater Yuzuru Hanyu, who scored 106.33 and took the lead in the Grand Prix Japan.
"I think his skating was perfect, his skating was like a one breath! He carried amazing, insane energetics and I felt it from the beginning when he entered the rink. Everything was breathtaking: great spins, excellent flow and skating, great expression. This was his best skate ever.
He is only 20 years old. This is a time when male figure skaters just begin to peak. I often skate with him in Japan for shows, he already does three different quads and aims to master quad lutz "- he will go even more far." Said Plushenko

Uh...if Hanyu wants to do quad lutz, he's going to have to compete beyond 2018.

It is dusk in Brazil. I'm preparing for another night shift prayers and positive energy to our Yuzu. Praying, praying, praying and praying. Believe and trust in their potential forever. Go Yuzu! That all blessings and positive energy be upon you. That the power of God protect you and keep you. You will get it. You will win. Go Yuzu! Gambette Yuzu !!!

I know I’m unfashionably late for the party but—YAAAAAAAAASSS!!! :yahoo: Talking about sending a message! He’s the Olympic champion and he’s here to stay! Nobody should write him off just yet! I was starting to accept the idea that maybe a clean Chopin was impossible, but who would’ve thought that bumping up the tech layout would do the job  Excuse me while I look for the best quality video out there of this SP and download it. Congrats, Yuzuru on the new WR and clean Chopin!

Saw that NHK accidentally(?) showed him using his inhaler yesterday during backstage warm-up. I know he and his team is on top of his health situation but I still got a little worried tbh.

Anyways sending good vibes and hope that he has a good FS as well! :agree2:

I caught that too, when he was in the warm up area sitting on his matt. But I guess that performance showed us he's in top shape, I didn't see him too tired afterwards either, though that may have been adrenaline :)

Any news of his LP practice? It'd be great if he could break 200 pts, but I rather not have him peak too early.

It's too early, the LP practice start in 2h30...it's only 6:25 am in Japan ! ;)

I don't find it alarming. I think he uses his inhaler everytime (and everyday), it's just that we don't see it. When you have an asthma it's important to follow a regular treatment for a better efficacity and in order to avoid asthma attack.

one thing, I am not sure I saw him rotating his quads faster ever. Really he was rotating both salchow and toe like tornado today

I wouldn't worry too much about him using his inhaler. I know from experience that it can help to have a few puffs of your inhaler if you know you're going to be doing a lot of activity later. It's just preventative so rather than him struggling and having to use his inhaler to help, he can try to avoid difficult breathing in the first place.
