Oh please tell me you're going to upload them! :hap57:
Oh so sorry, I just meant on the HD recorder. I haven't got the foggiest how to get it off the recorder onto my computer, though. But I need the recording to be able to transcribe the Dutch commentary.

edit: I'm sure there'll be a gazillion uploads from other people within a few minutes, though, right?

Yuzuuuuuu!

The others must be quaking in their boots.

i can't stop from smiling and grinning the whole time. their fanboying is expected

and i chuckled when they said "there he was, milking it", referring yuzu excitement before the score came up XD

Oh ok no worries, it's still amazing that you take the time to do those translations (sorry that I can't help there since there wasn't a Spanish broadcast).
But yeah, no doubt people will upload them :)

So late for the party but yaaaaaaaaaay :yahoo:. No one can catch this dragon when he flies as high as the Heaven.

Yuzuuuuuu!

eurosport British guys:
flying around the ice. sharp and focused in the step sequence.
oh my goodness, this is something very very special.
dream performance
and that's the last of the jumps, incredible stuff from Hanyu!

that was incredible!!! Well that is YH at his very very best, I think he can scarcely believe what he's achieved there. That is one of the best performances of all time, score is huge, gonna be record score. He has the whole package.

time and again, the landings, Oh!

it's a fighting performance, a warrior's performance.

The guys expect 10s. ;-)

Well done, Brian, fantastic job.

216 points, that is ridiculous!! 322 points, that is just in a different realm to anything we've seen before. So well deserved. I bet there are some tens in there.
The others must be quaking in their boots.
Thank you for the comments! can't wait to watch the video :hap57:

Oh, the amount of posts in this thread is too big. :drama: 2000+ pages already and about 30 today!

But in short, I'm incredibly proud of Yuzuru. I'm a little sad he was great already today and might not be at Worlds, but even if he skates worse there, I'll be glad I was able to see his perfection at NHK. I have to be honest, I really thought adding three quads is a horrible idea and he would be never clean, but he did it. Even it that would be only once, I belive in Yuzuru, because he usually only messes up his quads and lutzes and earns lots of points on other elements. And also because it's Yuzuru and always suprises us. ;) Just like with his quad combo, now we finally have 2 examples of his beautiful 4-3.

I honestly don't think anyone can pass 100, 200 and 300 points except Yuzuru. Yuzu achieved those scores not just due to the high BV, but also added difficulty in every single element, in-between moves and top quality in everything. So unless there is another skater who can execute even more difficult programs with top quality, I don't even think they can pass 100, 200 and 300 points without some inflation. I don't see anyone with Yuzu's technical prowess.

I think 100 SP is very achievable for a few of the top guys (doesn't mean they will, but its possible) whereas 200 FS and especially 300 Total not so much to say the least. And definitely not the way Yuzuru did it, 22 points over the benchmark 300 :dbana: That number will stand for a very long time (unless Yuzuru manages to best it himself)

Okay, quick and dirty Dutch to English translation/transcription.

Men's FS, Yuzuru Hanyu, SEIMEI, Ivo something and... Haya Leenaerts? Let's just call her L for Lady.

Ivo: One more FS to go, and let's hope it'll be just as nice a program as with the SP. Yuzuru Hanyu, almost faultless (in the SP), almost, because his first quad S could have been better, and he got over 106 points. PC has the world record, let's look at that, 196.72, two years ago at TEB, and that [Hanyu] will win here is hopefully already a done deal in his mind. Enjoy!

(Dutch commentators not being very commentaty, in fact, shutting up altogether for the duration of the FS)

L: Yuzuru Hanyu already wrote history yesterday with his SP, a big world record into the history books, and I cannot imagine he didn't repeat that feat now. The Big Hat arena is going crazy, because this was a historic performance, really-- well, maybe the best-ever FS I've ever seen. So difficult, with a grand total of three quads, 2 3As, but everything was so well connected with transition, no long preparations (note: gee, she likes saying that, doesn't she? She said the very same at the SP, lolol), it all went so easy, and technically it was so beautiful, the whole FS is Beauty (she literally uses beauty as a noun), of course it's not just the jumps, he can present, he can skate wonderfully ("fantastisch", not the same as the English fantastic), and at the start of the season I thought, "Yes yes, maybe he's got a too difficult program, and not everything worked out yet, but now it did, every piece of the puzzle fit together, and this is what he worked for, and they knew, these two guys (at this point Yuzuru just comes off the ice and hugs Brian) knew that this was possible, and they sort of started the fight against Yuzuru himself (awkward translation), they set their sights high, not win on "safe" this summer (Dutch/English combo expression, niet op safe gaan), because he can win if he goes "safe", no, they wanted to set their sights as high as possible, and look at this, the end of November, he already reaches it.

(at this point the slowmos start, and I take a very quick break from translating, hehe)

part 2, FS Dutch commentary

We're going to look at the 4S, jumped even more beautifully than in the SP, on to the 4T, gorgeous, also fit very well in the music, close-up of that terrific toeloop technique, 4 rotations, beautifully landed "backwards" (not sure how you say it in English), no turning on the point, no cheating, many of these connecting passes, another jump, another 4T in the second half of the program, actually, he had planned a 2T in that combo, but he thought, what does it matter, I'll just do a 3T, I'm in a good position already, and I feeling good, and then this second 3A from passes (steps? I don't know all the correct words in English yet), jumped well from passes and then wonderfully the arms in the air, a 2T and how well did it go together with the music, another 3A, well, that was the second one, that immediately followed it in the second half of the program, he did five difficult jumps in the second half, that'll earn him another 10 % extra. Yeah, where will this go with the points score?
Of course he is given loads of presents, stuffed animals. Respect for the coach, Brian Orser. What a difference with a year ago, Ivo (note: oops, okay, so I've been going on the assumption the guy commentating was Jeroen Prins, but in fact it's Ivo... something. Maybe Prins is at NRW trophy in Germany judging?) when he skated really badly here in his home GP.
Ivo: yes, back then it was less than a point difference or he wouldn't have made the GPF, which he won. Well, he's not gonna have to worry about that this time. Look at the score. 216.07 is a new world record at almost twenty points, and then we're only talking about the LP, and the 300+ score, yes, this is--
L: never before a man has skated 200+
Ivo: and not just a bit over it, he combined the SP of his life with the LP of his life, ha, yes, even Orser is amazed/shocked, and he certainly has had some experience with this sort of thing. Unbelievable, and yes indeed, where will this go, because you said rightly, it is the end of November, this is "just" a regular Grand Prix, we still have the Final, and Worlds, and he's already skated almost perfectly, the only thing was the 4S in the SP, there were "some things" you can comment on (note: ?? honestly, Dutch people can be soooo critical, the 4S wasn't even that bad), but not more than that. He wanted to do this for his fellow countrymen, after indeed not having a great performance last year, but this is something much more than "doing it for" [someone].

Note: what a difference from the British commentators, eh? Honestly, I don't know what it is about these Dutch figure skater commentators, but you would expect a bit more excitement than this. It's all so... meh. Okay, I'm biased, and they're professionals, they're supposed to be objective, but I'm not getting even 1/10 of the excitement at what Yuzuru Hanyu accomplished as the British guys expressed.

If the top guys do two quads in the SP, I think it's possible to pass 100 points. The reason Yuzu got over 100 points for a 1 quad SP was because he back loaded his jumps more, so he had a slightly higher BV. Also, he still added difficult transitions to all the jumps. He had top quality in everything. He also got a bit of Olympic inflation in the PCS. Even then, he only just slightly crossed the 100 point mark. For most top skaters like Patrick, Tatsuki, Javi and Denis, their highest scoring potential for a 1 quad SP is around 98 due to lower BV (also their overall quality is not as good as Yuzu's), unless they get more inflated GOE and PCS or up their BV and still has top quality in everything. I guess I just don't see them up their tech and still has top quality in everything.

For those who can access CBC....they are showing 2 hours of tv coverage, the pairs and mens free program starting now...for two hours!!!

I thought it was kind of cute that one of the B.Esp commentators was not impressed when he thought that the judges didn't give Hanyu any 10s and then the other commentator had to explain to him that the PCS is an average of all the judges scores and that there must have been 10s in there for sure

Do you have a link? Because every time I click on the one that's supposed to take me to the broadcast it leads me to the main page, I can only see alpine skiing...

I'm very late to the party :) just wanted to say that there's not enough worlds in my vocabulary to describe how proud and happy I'm too by Yuzuru's fan.
I don't know what will happen in GPF and Worlds but I'm sure Yuzu is very glad to present such magical performance in front of the home crowd

I sooo wish that we could gather somewhere all together one day and have a Biig party!!! :cheer: (don't take me wrong, this is a big party already, i just mean to gather in person)
