He often under-performs at the first competition after national. E.g. 2013 4CC, 2014 Olympics, 2015 WC. I think that's mostly due to the long break after national that causes him to lose his competitive mindset, not the lack of training or rest. He also always under-performs at his first GP even when he is well trained and well rested. I think that's also due to a long break off season. There is a really long break between national and world (over 3 months). Resting and not competing for that long is probably not a good idea.
His programs are very risky. He needs to be mentally ready to compete, not just physically ready. He can only be mentally ready when he competes more. I think he already has enough rest.
2) Yuzuru Hanyu, NHK Trophy SP (Ballade No. 1)
Writing a top 10 Grand Prix performances list without including Yuzuru Hanyu's performances at the NHK Trophy this season is like discussing Hamlet without actually mentioning Hamlet. So here we are. The 4S sandwiched by spread eagles was astonishing, as was the intricacy of the choreography, and not to mention, the sheer speed and flow throughout the program. Moreover, the stillness and precision Mr. Hanyu conveyed with his movements was such a stunning contrast to his wild, ragged wet noodle days. And to think, when I first found out that Mr. Hanyu's intended SP jump layout for NHK included a second quad, I had scoffed and thought, "HAHAHA, fool." As it turns out, however, the fool was not Yuzuru Hanyu.
1) Yuzuru Hanyu, NHK Trophy LP (Seimei)
What superlatives can I use to describe this performance that haven't already been used? Put simply, Mr. Hanyu gave an incredible, world record-obliterating performance at NHK. Even in my slightly delirious, sleep-deprived state in the middle of the night, it was exhilarating to watch. It was also, quite plausibly, one of the greatest men's long programs ever performed. What is your favorite moment of this performance? Mine is watching how silent the audience gets as Mr. Hanyu sets up for his final 3Lz, as if the crowd was collectively holding their breath--then the roar of the audience upon its realization that Mr. Hanyu did indeed nail the final lutz. Watching this performance, I now know how Victor Hugo Morales must have felt as he watched Diego Maradona score the immortal Goal of the Century against England on that fateful day on June 22, 1986--Hanyu, en una corrida memorable, en la jugada de todos los tiempos . . . Barrilete cósmico . . . ¿de qué planeta viniste?
I don't know. I only remember he said that Yuzu won't have that many competitions in Asia as last season. But I do think Yuzu needs to have some competition experience before the world championship. Base on his past record, he almost always give a sub-par performance at the first competition after a long break (excluding senior b, where there is little pressure).
Morozombie has just updated his list of best performances in GPs, you know who places 1 and 2 :luv17:: http://morozombie.blogspot.com/2015/11/stuff-i-like-grand-prix-2015-part-i.html
And
:hap93:
man, I wish I would suck so badly more oftenI had a really weird dream last night. I don't remember most of it, only that I was watching a figure skating competition. And that in the end the commentator said something like "Oh boy, bad day at the office for Hanyu. Only 290 points in total. That's way, way below his personal best."
I woke up like :roll9:man, I wish I would suck so badly more often

Is this the kind of kimono where you can wear it when you are married in Japan? *_*
I'm in love with traditional Japanese clothes and Yuzu in it is just
I don't know. This is the e-mail which I use to send congratulate and support messages at Worlds 2015. And I saw this adreess is posted to Toronto Cricket Club. I hope it works because I want everyone in that club to see how many people support Yuzuru and congratulate him for his amazing programmes. :luv17: And then I received a message back. Now I don't receive.![]()
Wow even Caroline Kennedy (JFK daughter and ambassador for Japan and U.S.) commented on Yuzu's performance. https://mobile.twitter.com/CarolineKennedy/status/671222199995334657

There were many Yuzu moments at NHK, one of it is at the gala finale ending he bent down and said arigato to the boy (is he the novice national champ?) that he held hand with.
What are your Yuzu moments?
Absolutely agree with gsyzf here, I believe going to 4CC will only benefit him as it is the same time as Olympics, also it will help him to keep his competitive mindset for Boston. I don't think he has to come back to Japan for interviews and he isn't that weak not to handle traveling. JSF will Choose Him and shoma for sure , but decision will be up to him imo.
he really lacks that 4cc gold tbh![]()
