Okay, for the last 20-30 minutes or so I couldn't even post anything because I was literally hyperventilating before, during, and after his free. Goodness me, he's scary consistent now! :eeking: Two clean competitions in a row! Defending his GPF title, skating after Javi, skating last, expectations from the crowd and everyone after what happened in NHK, just a big amount of pressure he has to carry and he goes out there and slays it yet again? Unbelievable. You are a legend, Yuzuru

I'm back at the hotel. The entrance/exit for the athletes is directly next to the entrance to our hotel. There's a huge crowd waiting. I'm too old to fight a crowd of Japanese and Spanish gals to catch a glimpse of somebody. I hear them screaming from around the corner so I assume that something is going on. But i have no idea what. We'll probably hear about it on twitter or something. I'm just really way too old to be in the middle of this.

so, back at the hotel room, and finally I'm able to breathe normally again (kind of. not really. still kind of hyperventilating) This forum doesn't have nearly enough smilies to express how I'm feeling. In a previous life I must have done something very very right to be allowed to now see something like that live. You remember that I said that we totally freaked out two days ago? Well, you can forget about that. Two days ago was nothing compared to today!! Nothing! We were literally crying and screaming until our voices gave out. He's nuts, he's simply completely and utterly nuts! I have no idea how he does it (and apparently he doesn't know either if that interview is any indication)..... This is insane. I don't even know how to describe this. We already freaked when we realized that Shoma would get a medal, and then Javier did so well, and then Yuzu got into his space ship and brought another skate from a planet far far away. Whatever species he is, we need to make friends with them, because the human race could definitely use an infusion of that kind of ridiculous awesomeness!

......I'm running out of words. I'm gonna go back to expressing myself with smilies

I'm amazed he kept it together when the others had great skates. I really hope he will be able to replicate this at the Worlds where it counts the most. This will be a good experience for him. I guess when you're able to put two clean performance together like at NHK it changes you, making you more consistent and giving you confidence perhaps. It reminds me of Kim Yuna when she had her performance at the Olympics, after that she pretty much managed to deliver perfect performances at the big stage like world and Olympics. Amazing

You know I don't wanna jinx too early but I feel Yuzu will not let himself lose the world title again. Last year is was out of his hands since he did just have surgery, but now he is determined to win it back!
