Yuzuru Hanyu: 2015-16 Season

My main reason in my speculation he wouldn't include it for the Worlds is that it would mean reworking the whole choreography surrounding the parts of the progam where he would include it. Sure he did that with Chopin in a matter of weeks but it was a program he was doing for its second season so he already "knew" he program in his muscles. And it's a short program. Reworking Seimei to include the 4Lo AND getting the level 4 step sequence might be a bit much, especially considering how attached he is to the program.

But unlike with Chopin, he doesn't have just weeks but months in front of him so... who knows ? :hap93:

Actually, he only needs to replace the first 4t with 4lo and do 3a3t instead of 3a2t. The rest of the program remains the same.

Yes he might, but it's not as if 3 different quads wasn't ambitious enough. He only has 2 seasons left for the Olympics, and that is actually not a lot of time. It took his 4S longer than that to get stable. It will all come down to how his practices and competitions go, but he has so much other stuff he wants to work on - his step sequences and therefor his SS, he wants to develop further artistically, and then already the 4Lo. IMO, the biggest challenge for next season is to find 2 programs that can live up to Chopin and Seimei... especially Seimei. Everything is going very well right now (even if his nationals performances were hindered by fatigue), but I'm sure there will also be times again when he'll struggle and won't be able to up the ante every 3rd competition.

Maybe I have high standards. But if he only improves stsq and ss and try different styles in 2 year, the improvement is too small for someone with his level of talent. There is not much room left to improve ss.

He basically follows the same pattern every season. I don't think he can increase his quota of consecutive good competitions to more than 2 because he increases his tech every season. I only expect him to have 3-4 good competitions each season. He knows about his own pattern and conditions as well. He just needs to peak at the right competitions.

New Video this morning of interview with Hanyu-san and Shoma.

They said they mostly talk about games(video games) and call themselves gamers. Interviewer asked what they do outside of practice and they both said "sleep and play games!" Then the female host in the studio said she is relieved that Hanyu-san is showing a side like a normal 21 year old, in which the male host said "well, maybe he is top-class at playing too!"

Yuzu has hard schedule… He appears on the Japan’s biggest song show on December 31 as a guest and makes a speech about the disaster, from I’ve read.

I wanted to see them do something like mao and shoma at finale…

Thank you! ohh come on Satoko, it wasnt a difficult question at all unless she has some secret plans and was afraid she might say it and i really hoped they would sth together too aand maybe they did but Fuji TV didnt show , hopefully at worlds when they both win (Satoko winning is unlikely but one can dream right? haha) now go get some rest both of you!

I think at the end the judges just vote for which team they think should win. Daisuke also did this and I'm trying think back to what he did when he did it. I think at one point there was a song for him or something but I forget lol. It's a really long and pretty boring show so I've never watched the whole thing, I usually just watch the videos of the performances I want to see. But Yuzuru has way dedicated fans so I'm 100% sure all the clips of him from it will be cut out and put on DM so I'll look forward to that

We definitely got a long list of questions . Apart from those already asked. I wonder what will he wear, his hairstyle and whether any of the singer/group in the list that our Yuzu is a fan of?


[Off-topic: I just checked out the Yuzu band. It a duo of Yūjin Kitagawa and Kōji Iwasawa. At first, their band name was "Light's", but Kitagawa disliked it, so they changed the name to "Yuzu". At that time, Kitagawa was eating a Yuzu sherbet, so he named the band after the fruit (incidentally, Iwasawa was eating vanilla ice cream. So the band name might have been Vanilla. Sometimes Iwasawa tells this story). The fans of Yuzu are called "Yuzukko (ゆずっ子)"]

Yes, he has to sit there during the whole show. It must be very tiring...
One group he likes will sing but they(BUMP OF CHICKEN) won't be in the hall. They will sing from their live show in Makuhari.

I'm looking forward to that singing competition show. I know it'll be long and boring (especially to those who knows no Japanese lol) but interested in how Yuzu will do.. I think I can catch that on NHK though I can't guarantee I'd sit and actually watch the whole thing without flipping to another channel or two.

Also, that Hana wa Saku performance stated it'll feature Yuzu only so idk what they'll do with that. I mean I certainly don't expect him skating but I also can't imagine him singing on stage with them? oh well let/could this be a surprise?
