Hi! I've been lurking for some time, and this is my first post :)
I've spent (or is it wasted) hours reading through over a thousand pages on this thread, and am far from done :P

Anyway, I found some gorgeous art by a tieba user, and want to share it with you:

I also did some quick sketches of some of Yuzu and Mao's costumes (I've never taken art classes and I suck at drawing faces, so only very quick pencil sketches of costumes from me).

Enjoy! :)

Edit: just a quick question. How do I post links on mobile?

Welcome Axellence, super amazing costume clips! You should post it in the Forum's Figure Skating Fan Art Gallery. http://www.goldenskate.com/forum/showthread.php?58130-Skating-Fan-Art-Gallery&goto=newpost

my first post

Hallo !

After quite a time reading eagerly all your posts I want to say THANK YOU with my first post here. Greetings to all of you !

Every morning its my first click to open this thread. Thanks for all the things posted here, they helped me a lot ...why?
I am crazy about figure skating now in my sixth year, learning it myself mostly without a teacher: Very often I can' t understand, what the figure skating teacher wants from me, so I dont want to spend money for nothing, they usually don't jump themselves and I love jumping - I need someone to show it to me over and over again - guess whom I chose two years ago ?

Especially the practise/ training session videos help me and I never would have found my biggest fault if I had not followed your blog: Not having my middle.
Yes - I am crazy. And I am pretty old. And I am not scared to fall - if you dont fall, you can' t learn.

I admire Hanyu - how he is moving on the ice, his jumps, his pirouettes, his art ( very personal, not following a form/ poise ), his mental strength, his perseverance and his courage to set new standarts in figure skating.

Bye - I have to leave for my ice time ! Thanks again and I hug you all ! Katrin

Welcome Katrin! I also thought about learning by myself since classes are so expensive but I'm still thinking about it

Welcome Katie, I'm also not so young for learning figure skating but like you I love jumps. I'm trying to do flip now and I'm all over the places on ice . I have found it helpful to try doing some of Yuzu's signature moves for a change of pace and guess what? I tried hydroblade and it worked, it felt so good and gave me the encouragement that I could learn harder stuff too. So, keep going sis you are not alone :agree:.

Adding my welcome to new posters Axellence and Katie J! I hope you will have a fun time here in this thread. Hugs!

I love how Shoma just looks so used to it

More like resigned to his fate of having his cheeks pinched by his irrepressible senpai.

Now Shoma's not the only one with oh so pinchable cheeks and Yuzuru better watch out if someone does unto him what he does unto others. There will be a long line I suppose. ;)

I've been thinking: if Yuzu plans to include 4Lo at Worlds, wouldn't it be safer for him to go to 4CC to test drive it first? It seems like a huge risk to throw a brand new jump at Worlds.

I guess he will throw it in if he will be at least 90 % sure he's gonna land it

Definitely safer, but then he already has decided not to go to 4CC. Anyway, I trust he and his team would have done all they can to ensure he lands that jump for the first time in competition at Worlds if indeed that is the plan.

It may have been safer, but it could have also added more pressure to land it if he succeeded. And he was way too tired after NHK, GPF and Nationals. There would not have been enough time to rest and prepare for 4 CC and Worlds.

it is risky, kind of like when he decided to add a second quad in the short and the 4T-3T combo in the long . But honestly I don't think we'll see that jump at worlds, unless it's veeeeeery consistent in practice.

Well, he certainly does know how to make his fans fret. :drama:

Hi! I've lurking for a while and I decide that it's time to post  I love Yuzuru since I watched his R&J in Nice, it was so beautiful... For me he's inspiring:luv17:
About adding the 4Lo at worlds, I think if he is consistent landing it, he'd replace the first 4T by the 4Lo. And this can be a smart move, because with the current layout, if he falls on the second 4T he gets REP(70% BV). So with three diferent quads he avoids that. And he increases his BV, with Javi onfire can be necessary.
Sorry for my bad english:slink:

Welcome JuliettaG and all the new users who have joined the fun! I agree, IF he adds the 4Lo the most logical thing to do right now is to switch the first 4T, going for 4 quads right now may be too risky.

It's not just the 4Lo he wants to add, it seems that he wants to do 3Lz3Lo as well (he was practicing a loop combo with lutz) to maximize his bv. So he may feel he needs more time to practice the new layout.

I think his planned layout at WC maybe

4s, 4Lo, 3F/4t3t, 3A, 3A-1Lo-3S, 3Lz3Lo, 3Lz.

It is risky to try a new layout at the WC for the first time. The pressure at the upcoming WC will not be less than the pressure he faced at 2014WC right after he won the Olympics. I actually hope he can do a senior b in early March before WC to test the new layout. Are there any senior B competitions in early March?
