SO lovely. I actually just rewatched his Olympic performances the other day. It's great for Yuzu that he still ended up with the gold, but his disappointment in the K&C is so palpable (Chan's too). Honestly heartbreaking to see Yuzu and Brian (who literally went through the same thing) sit there. Damn. I remember watching it live and feeling almost numb? b/c it was like 'It's gone... He's just lost the gold." I rmbr thinking I literally can't imagine how disappointed he must be. I don't remember a lot of his post-Sochi interviews on his free, so this was a sad first hand confirmation on what happened.

It's funny because what happened in Sochi is almost happening now–from NHK to GPF. I would normally be assured by his interview on Sochi and his performances at GPF for Worlds, but I'm still nervous! lol Because it's all building, all this tension. I don't know how skaters do it. The physical is whatever, stay healthy, practice safely, etc., but mental game is a whole other ball game (and I applaud Max Aaron for getting a sports therapist). I mean my rational side, the side that'd place my bets, knows yeah he's probably gonna ace it, but still that pressure, man.

Looking up the Aaron interview: "Aaron continues to work with his team psychologist and coaches (including Becky Calvin) on his mental preparation. In the past, he felt he was trying to do everything at once and that he should have taken the time to focus on one thing at a time." Wow. That was exactly what Yuzu was talking about word for word at JPN nat'ls.

I think he's become stronger in the mental game, for me that he was able to put those incredibles performances back to back since NHK it's really amazing. He's demostrated to himself that he can do it, that he can have dream performances (well there is something he will never be satisfied with like the stsq level 3 ). Hopefully he can have many more programs that leave him satisfied in the futue (worlds plz ).

I totally forgot to mention that the lady announcer at the venue sets new standards when it comes to butchering skaters names hilarious! I don't even remember what exactly she called Yuzuru. Yuzuru Genja or whatever, I have NO idea, it wasn't even close to being close! everyone around us just burst into laughter because every other name was total gibberish!

Hanyu and Ravel, Une barque sur l'ocean (André Laplante)

Similar to melmel's great edit of Ballade no 1 to New World Symphony, I edited his MOI 'Requiem of Heaven and Earth' to this beautiful and flowing Ravel piece about a ship sailing on the ocean. His effortless glide, the rise and fall of his movements, the contrast between serenity and crashing waves, the tragedy and anguish, the hope, his costume, the oceanic blue light, all of it comes together really nicely. He becomes the physical and emotional embodiment of water.

If you take a look, I'd love to get feedback. I don't have permission from the uploader Japan Figure Skating so please don't reupload it anywhere. I'm still in search of a HD video source to use so I can upload it publicly because it was originally just made for my own viewing pleasure, but I thought the results turned out unexpectedly good so I'd just like to share them with the small group of people here on GS

I've also been trying to edit some of his programs to Ravel's Lever du jour (imagine a 4T+3T starting around 0:55!), but it's much harder!

This TV show features a re-cap of Yuzu at Skate Canada and GPF...it includes back stage footage of Yuzu doing things like teasing Shoma, pinching Shoma's cheeks etc. at the end.

This is the video of the event held in Sendai in 2012. I think I missed this program when it was aired originally, so I'm happy I could see it today Thank you for the uploader.

Hi, just watched the gps collection on DM, really love the new cut version of SEIMEI from 27:02. it is newly edited by asahi tv, some part switched with their own, and it is a much better version than the official broadcast one. Actually best version ever.

I watched Eurosport for the Europeans last weekend, Fernandez skating, there was a close up of Brian Orsers face as if he was biting something - he was really performing with Fernandez the same time - he is himself skating it.

For Farnaz: Thanks for the private message, I even cant reply to a private message yet because of ths minimum posts I didnt reach. Keep trying your Flip ! Hip forward stance during entry, takeoff and in the air because you have to bring the hip of the stretched leg forward again- you will land as softly as Hanyu or Uno.
I am the age like Brian Orser, 1, 78 cm tall, a lot of disadvantages. I want to give you courage not no give up. My body - something inside me- learns, because I love skating.
Crashing a jump is normal - maybe next day you can do it. Two weeks ago I could do perfect 2T landing on one leg (legs crossed, hip forward), yesterday I crashed nearly all of them.
