I just saw this report from Phiten.

Phiten delivered some drinking water for the earthquake stricken areas in Kumamoto Pref. by Yuzuru's request.


And this is just a trivial information to add to what was already reported yesterday, but Yuzuru is currently working with a Japanese physical therapist for treatment.

It mean Shoma want to destroy/crush Yuzu down.
But some Shoma fan explain its Nagoya dielect (Im living at Nagoya and I dont know it =))), mean that Shoma want to break the stronghold/castle keep Yuzu (because Nagoya used to be the land of many war campaign and it has many castle build here)

Actually Shoma said "I want to crush /no objective/ oneday.", not saying "I want to crush Hanyu."

There is the idiom in Japanese; 牙城を崩す/gajo wo kuzusu/
= literally " to crush the king's castle" = to break the stronghold = to beat the king

This is not Nagoya-dialect, but general Japanese idiom.
We, Japanese, don't use the verb 崩す/kuzusu/ toward a person, so when I heard his words 崩したい/crush/ on tv interview , I understood he just skipped "king's castle", not using the whole idiom.

To me his words don't sound strong at all))

This article in the not very reliable magazine Josei Jishin was actually written by a respectable author, Jung-Hoon Kim (金正勲 / 김 정훈). It doesn't have a lot of content, but he writes:

So Shoma basically said he wanted to defeat (Hanyu) one day. I feel it is normal that athletes want to defeat the "King of the game".

Think about what Machida said after worlds 2014 「ぶっ潰しにいきます」which is even stronger than this one. Then remember Yuzu's reaction?

Maybe this information has already been shared here, but one of the main actors in the movie, Eita, apparently described Yuzuru in a magazine interview (S-style) as "beautiful as a life form" (生命体として美しい). So there was a hashtag going around called #生命体として美しい

I don’t think that’s an excuse for Shoma fans.
Actually “Kuzusu” (崩す) sounds not that strong. But if he had said “Kowasu” (destroy) for Yuzuru, it could be quite strong in Japanese.
As I said before on other thread, I am sure Shome did use the word from 牙城を崩す.

Addition : 牙城を崩す itself is not a Nagoya dialect, but in general, Most Japanese don’t use the word 崩す as a verb for the purpose.
So I was guessing, it’s a unique expression of some Nagoya people. (as we know, Nagoya has some castles.)
But even if he says something strong words for Yuzuru, why should we blame him?
