Tracy's face was priceless. It was her eyes that got me. And I love Brian's "im cool, im used to this" reaction with the folded arms.
YES! This was baby faced assassin yuzu returning, lol.
the first one was the time he totally won me over. This cute little kid with the eyes and expression of a kitten with claws, lol.

Great quality vid and you can see brian and tracy getting more excited and then jumping up and hugging after it was over.
So I woke up in the middle of the night and remembered the amazing things that just happened, and ended up watching Yuzu vids again for another 2 hours lol! I need to get back to sleep, but still can't help smiling at how phenomenal everything was :luv17:
About the increased pressure at the Olympics: I think the preassure didn't exactly increase. As a defending champion with huge potential and records under his belt he would be under pressure no matter what. The confidence booster that this win brings will outweigh any extra pressure, I think. Yuzuru will stand on the Olympic and be able to think "I can do this."

Finally caught up with the thread. Thank you for all the updates, translations, links etc.
I have nothing to share now but just want to say congrats to Yuzu and all of you.
I joined this thread almost a year ago when I was really depressed with the things happened in Boston and after that. After SP things reminded me of exactly what I felt at that time and I realized that what made me sad at that time was not his loss or unhappy face but the feeling that his effort was not rewarded. As he said before, effort lies, and he is not the only one who’s working hard and dealing with difficult situations, but seeing his effort remain unrequited was just heartbreaking.
After seeing his FS, I felt so light after a long time. It was like a spell was broken by the FS.
Score-wise, I don’t think his effort was fully rewarded, but he could perform the way he wanted after a long, hard struggle, at the most important event, against all odds. And he has done it with such a personal piece. According to this article,(If there is no translation shared, I can translate it but it will take time) he even considered changing his program music after 4CC, but he didn’t give up and in the end 4S-3T answered and many people who questioned this music choice enjoyed this performance.
I’m so happy now.
Thanks to all the people who supported him at the venue! I want to hear what you experienced when you have time or after taking rest!

I am happy for Yuzuru and his gold. But I hope he gets better music next year, not that Hope and Legacy isn't beautiful. But I love when he skates to music that is stronger and has more authority (like RJ1 and Onmyoji), if he can find something like his Chopin sp I think I would be in heaven
. And yes I haven't :disapp:been in the favor of his Prince choice.
Though I have to give Yuzuru props for doing something different :agree:

I agree. I feel like at every competition he's in, he has the most pressure compared to everybody else. Nowadays, his consistency doesn't matter. Everyone knows what he's capable of, and therefore he's under the pressure to deliver. Despite the level of difficulty that he's facing, the expectations from him are sky-high. People get so disappointed when he's not on...
That's why I feel like Shoma is so lucky. Because Yuzuru is his teammate, Japan's pressure is not on him. Shoma's one of the few skaters who don't have to worry about spots because no matter what, Yuzuru's probably gonna podium. He also has someone to chase. Shoma's stated several times that Yuzuru is a huge motivation to him.
Javi too. It's crazy how Javi can be a 2x world champion and still not have to deal with the pressure.
