It looks, as if, in the last part of the fancam, he was surprised at seeing the other skaters' score? I would expect him to know the score of the others already or maybe he is the type who doesn't want to know how the others are doing before he skates. :think:

Since he gets nervous easily, I don't think he looks at the other competitors scores until after he performed. At Worlds 2015, after his SP, you can see him in the K&C checking out the standings and he asked Brian if Javier did well, too. He wouldn't have asked had he seen it. So yeah, it sounds like he doesn't know what goes on before him. IMO, it's better that way

I wonder if the 4S-3T situation is like the 3Lz-3T in his Chopin short program before. There seems to be something off between the music and his preparation for that jump that might be affecting his ability to land it.

I recalled seeing a SP practice (I'm not sure at which event or was it at TCC) where he hold his head while rolling it when the song went "let's go crazy" (I think after the 4S-3t). I love when he did that as it was so cool.

Did he removed it? Is this the part which someone mentioned before, if I'm not mistaken either unico or geo1.

He still points to his head here (not at NHK though) but he doesn't roll it as much in competitions I think. It was off the music this time as well since he does it right after the jump.

I love nowadays competition with this amazing trio Hanyu Chan Fern ! Anyone with huge point in the SP can loose if he did a normal FS while other competitors did well.
Tbh, I think Javier and Chan are still more consistent on their jumps than Yuzu, especially during FS, and one of them will will win this tnt and the next World's.
I had always in my mind, the 110 points SP of Yuzu in Worlds 2016 and finally for loosing the 1st place. I never thought it would be possible.

Yeah, I think so. It looks like he was genuinely surprised at (I'm guessing here) Javi's score. And Brian gestured something, maybe explaining where Javi's mistakes were. Actually if he doesn't check score of those skating before him, skating earlier should not be a problem hahaha.

The commentators are so quiet (as if yuzu could hear them or something, lol). It it reminds me of that commercial with the figure skating sumo wrestler.

Anyways I realize I didn't give any commentary about the short. Forgive me, but I was too busy watching it 1000 times. This is what I was saying. You have to give him time to let the program cook and then eventually it will be a feast for the eyes as he lets it fly. And in this case he was literally flying around, especially on that footwork. He definitely deserved max credit. I love love LOVE this program! I hope above all hope that he saves his very best and very cleanest of this for worlds.

I can't watch Yuzuru's SP without smiling. He is just so far above everyone else and yet still pushes himself. It's incredible.

His performance just blew me away. While I enjoy other skaters too, I feel that Yuzuru is actually performing for the audience.

I am a bit surprised he is doing so well with edge quads on this terrible ice. It's just sign his technique improved a lot. He found some way to rotate like tornado. I have never seen him rotating those quads as fast as this season

I thought the rotation on that 4L was crazy fast. Total blur. Faster than I have seen him do before.

During practice, the skaters enter the ice almost immediately after the ice is resurfaced, so there's no time for the ice to dry. During competition it's not the case so the ice is quite alright during competition actually.
