A little excerpt here from CCTV commentators :)

Lady: Wow, that's a spectacular performance. Can't say it is perfect, but to me, after having seen this performance, I can understand why some judges think GOE +3 is not enough and they want +5.
Man: Some of his elements, compared to those that had gotten +1, +2 put out by other skaters... to give him +3, you just feel he's owed something.
Lady: Yes! You feel a little bit bad, a little sorry! Such high quality... and yet you can only give +3.

And then you have judges who give him a 0 :laugh2:

I so look forward to the days of +/-5 GOE

(I'm not even close to even accepting the possibility that Yuzuru might stop after PC18, I honestly don't think he will either, only perhaps if studies or injury gets in the way :noshake: no no not even going to think about it)

So great to read everything you guys are posting  If we are talking fun commentator moments I love how Yuzuru just wins the heart of the Russian guy here at Worlds12 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DbbK8iH-OQ and Mark and Nicky (the other B.esp guys) are pretty fun in the Kiss and Cry here https://youtu.be/o1_WQgh8DI0?t=6m27s

Thank you for this- interesting how they mentioned how he seemed less artistically close to this performance and how his attention seem a bit divided compared to previous performances

Yeah i always thought they kinda didn't like each other? maybe because they barely interact and that one time patrick threw shade at yuzu

Yuzu always had nice words to say about Patrick and he admired him. But the feelings were not mutual to say the least :rolleye: They're not direct rivals anymore so maybe Patrick's feelings have changed...a bit.

Patrick is just passive agressive/defensive sometimes and has a foot on mouth syndrome but he's fluffy at heart and a great guy. I don't think they have anything against each other, they are just not that close and quite awkward because of same old Chanyu rivalry, especially since Sochi season. Yuzuru always admired Patrick's skating a lot, I remember at his senior debut, probably at COR/Rostelecom but I'm not sure, he said that he couldn't focus properly because he was too mesmerized by Patrick's blades lmfao

Seeing them exchanging words is nice, maybe this means Yuzuru is finally entering the veterans/uncles club lol jk don't crucify me Friendly Yuzuru and Patrick are my favourite Yuzuru and Patrick. :luv17:

This CCTV commentators are brilliant. Yuzu's concentration on the technical aspect is noticeable.

I really liked the fire in his 4cc H&L. I hope he can mix that fire with the softness from his previous performances and bring that to worlds.

When did Patrick throw shade at Yuzu? Like at 2013 GPF?

I have grown to appreciate Patrick's skating more, but he doesn't have a personality I'd ever fall in love with ;)

After the Olympics I think he said that two silvers are as good as a gold or something like that

I would take that as self-directed, just Patrick trying to think and be positive. There were worse foot-in-mouth occasions that I wouldn't give him a break for though (not to say he isn't fundamentally a good guy), like when he claimed he skipped through Javi and Yuzu's programs, only looked at jumps, and in the same breath opined they weren't doing anything new in their programs. That one just deserves a good smack on the head.

Yeah I just felt a little sad for him after saying that. Even the Canadian paper that quoted him was like "Of course, this isn't true, but whatever it takes to make him feel better..."

Eeek, was this after 2016 Worlds or something?

Haha did you just quote me twice in the same post, and catch me between edits XD That was during the off-season before his return, I think. Before 2015-2016.

Yeah personally I think it was a sort of positivity thing- just like what he said after GPF 2013- but I've seen many fans take it badly and out of context

Has this absolutely adorable picture of Brian waiting for Yuzu after the 4CC FS been posted here before? I'm not sure if he's thinking 'oh this boy' or 'I created a monster'. Maybe both.
