I finally went to the 4CC threads on PCS...i can only say people can be very irrational when defending their favourites even when facts say otherwise.
Anyway, the thread made me think more about Yuzu's jump progression and where he can go from here given the direction of the sport. It lead me to the following question: has Yuzu ever had a jump coach?
I think he is self-taught when it comes to quads. 4T I know he got by himself at 15. Oda said Yuzu tried it I think at ice show practice for the first time and could land it by the end of the day. 4 Lo he got in 2014 in a week. He said in his autobiography he tried a few in Worlds exhibition practice and by April 7 he landed one in ice show practice. I don't know when he got 4S but he could already do 4S 3A before moving to Orser so it's very possible he learnt it by himself as well. I'm not a skater and though I have a few favorites, I don't follow enough to know if learning such hard jumps by yourself is uncommon or if you usually need a jump coach.

I think they were Andrey Zhurankov and Alexander Boychuk. The guys who usually commentate on RUS ESP.

They're also the ones who coined the idea of "fluency in the language of skating" during Yuzuru's 4CC LP. I like their nuanced and measured take a lot.

Concerning this Kazsport video - I can understand half of it: one of the commentators speaks Russian. The second one speak Kazakh which I can get rudimentary gist of, my own first language being related to Kazakh.
A rather underwhelming commentating, though - I wonder if it's worth the trouble. They sounded unimpressed by his performance and would have put Shoma in front.

Just three - Tatar, Russian and English. But I also learnt a bit of French and German long ago, and made a feeble attempt to learn Spanish. Oh, and redundant stuff like Latin, Gothic, Old English... things a professional linguist needs - I can't really speak these, no one can!
There are people who speak far more languages than me in this thread! And some can speak JAPANESE - they're privileged.
I'll translate the replay - just not today, I'm knackered now!

I don't see commentators being this wise and kind about athletes' mentality so often. Most of commentators are easily jumping on the hype, declearing this and that skater as the next greatest everrrrrr etc. I am so glad that you translated the Russian ESP comments. :luv17:

Yeah, close relations with Kazakh, but not close enough to be mutually intelligible without getting to know some peculiarities. If they spoke Bashkir, that would be no problem at all!
