Lea Johanna Dastich of Germany who won 3rd at junior ladies' skate detroit and trains at TCC with Yuzuru shared something about him
She said : "He is really friendly and nice." and "He is working on 4S, 4T ,4Lo and 4Lz in a harness." also "He is inspiring because he never gives up."
source : this (the 6th picture in the slideshow)

p.s : I am quite surprised he is still working on the 4Lz  Granted, not sure about whether this information from her refers to something more recent or not. Also, from the way she said it, I am not sure if he is doing 4S,T,Lo and Lz in a harness or only the 4Lz in a harness

even a junior talks in Yuzu-Nemo place, who'll be next?? Poor kid! :tantrum::tantrum::tantrum:

It's probably just 4lz in a harness.

mcq, I believe that it is your own imprecise paraphrasing that is creating ambiguity in your mind.

The exact wording/punctuation of the caption was not ambiguous, IMO:
"'He is working on quad salchow, toe and loop, and also lutz in a harness.'"

Seems clear to me that her intended meaning was that the harness is in use only for the lutz.

YMMV.

I kind of wondered if he would try quad Lutz after his foot was injured. If what she says is current then I am speechless. This bunny...
And... ehhh... how about *cough* quad Axel? *cough* I know I am greedy but can I dream?:coffee:

I don't know if it will ever happen, but I do think he's probably capable of it. He has such an easy triple Axel. The second clip (from last year's Skate Canada) shows his best Axel of the season. You can see (especially in slow-mo) that he's already coming out of the rotation half a turn before landing. Incredible.

I've watched a few seconds to realize how much I miss him skating. :drama:
Yes, I've always wondered if he would go for his favorite jump quad. Perhaps it's not feasible at this moment of his career anymore.
Thank you for the videos, I haven't seen the first one before.:thank:

My guess is that the original tweet means after Skate Canada, he intended to change the layout to 4Lo and 4S but did not do that. Anyways just my guess. I hope Japanese skater will clarify the Japanese Tweet. Thanks.

another version is his sp layout is 4lo and 4sal no more toeloop xD

Yeah, I can see that. It is better in BV and for his injury too to do 4Lo and 4Sal in SP along with 3A. I think the Japanese Tweet only mean 4S and 4Lo but she wrote it continuously so some people misunderstood it as a combo.

The original post by yuzu_matsubarko says that Shirota said that in the exhibition practice of Skate Canada 2015, Yuzu tried spreadeagle-4S-spreadeagle, then tried spreadeagle-4lo-spreadeagle and landed both successfully, and decided to change his jump layout for Ballad no.1 on the spot. It’s referring to an article published in a Japanese magazine lately. So it has nothing to do with how he’s doing now. I’d love to see spreadeagle-4Lo-spreadeagle someday though:)

So guys, do you think he is going to ditch the 4T from his short program?

I think it's definitely a possibility, but it depends both on the consistency of his 4Lo and his 4s in combination. It would be safer to just have the 4Lo in the FS but if his injury is giving him trouble on the 4T perhaps it's best to go all the way with it.

I think it's too soon, way too soon to expect 4Lo in a combo. He has to perform it as a solo jump pretty consistent in competitions first.

I read the age/body-type (?) discussion a few pages back, about how Yuzu may be too mature (?) for some of his previous costumes, like R&J2 (my personal fav actually).

And just now I saw a new photo of Yuzu posted yesterday on a Chinese forum... looks like he just went through some reverse-growing since Worlds. Thinner and looks 17 again.

Link the evidence!;)
