I enjoyed Yuzu's SP a lot. It has great choreography and his skating skills
keep getting better and better, technically he is already at the top of his game and keeps pushing himself.

I think he looked gorgeous in that costume. It showed off his athletic mature build (speaking as an auntie here)
and imo appropriate for the music of Prince.

My God.. to keep up with this thread.. :hpull:

I don't actually mind the white I guess.. it's kinda trippy watching it on screen, especially in low(er) quality, but in HD it's not that bad. If anything I'd like to see more design/pattern/flair on his pants. I'm embarrassed to say this but I had to admit my eyes went to his *ahem* bottom *ahem* a few times omgosh I feel so wrong. (lol first thing is commenting on his costume)

He was leaning forward that much but still managed to save the loop he's incredible. Too bad about the salchow/hole and that was definitely an over-rotated 3T, which I bet wasn't easy to do after not expecting the quad pop. Whoever mentioned he seems to rotate faster I think I somewhat agree. Idk if it's because I haven't seen him for a long time but it did seem like it. Well he rotates fast even before anyway so doesn't really matter I guess.

About the program, I definitely saw a lot of potential. Give it time, let him grow into it (and let you guys grow on his costume  ). I see him still getting used to the feeling of performing it. He looked like he enjoyed it so it's great and I can't wait to see the next time it's being skated again.

Anyway I love it!!

Now looking forward for the free! :cheer:

And, the more variety he has, the more experimentation he does, the better he gets. He needed a real contrast to Chopin, and this is definitely that.

in the last five seasons Buttle choreographed 3 different SP only to Yuzu and two of them are quite similar, at least they undeniably share a similar concept.
Based on the fact this could be Yuzu's penultimate season of his whole careere , I can't see any sort of experimentation but a waste of time and (immense) talent.

I guess you have some kind of different understanding of concept.
Yuzuru is not stupid. He knows what he is doing. If he doesn't think that the idea is good and challenging enough for him, he wouldn't accept that.
And do you know that, the amount of turns and difficult transitions Yuzuru does in his SP is enough to be called a level 6? I guess you don't know.

I don't wanna comment on a program so early in the season because i think it is unfair due to it not being skated to its full potential yet and the skater has not get used to it (yet), but I will comment on my first impression. Generally, I like this program more than PW (I am actually one of the people who never really warm up to PW, though I don't hate the program too). This program seems like a love it or hate it kind of program, as in you either like it a lot or you can't stand it (or it just doesn't faze you lol). I love a lot of details in the choreography, i think Jeff did a good job in choreographing it, but I am not going to lie there are some cringey part too (personal taste ). I also don't see it being reminiscent to Javi at all, rather that for me it is more reminiscent of his past program: parisienne walkways. But just from the practices and this SP performance alone, I can already tell he has improved a lot from his PW days, I think his upper body movements are better and he has better flow. It is clear many many people love his rockstar persona aside of his dramatic persona so I don't see anything wrong for him to take this approach. Overall I think this is a solid program. Can't wait to see it fully grown. :luv17:

Agree with the cringey parts... I find the motion of being on the phone the cringey part that stands out the most to me :P Then again, I found bits of PW cringey as well, but I guess I got desensitised to them after a while.

OMG! Yes. Yes. Yes. The phone thing I hated when I first saw it. THAT is the number 1 thing I dislike in this program, other than the pants, lol.

I just rewatched the SP again. (Damn this thread move so fast)

TLDR Warning

For costume : I am desensitized actually, I survived RnJ2 and NDP costume (also requiem) nothing he wear can even faze me anymore

I just took a short look at TSL (i know, my bad :palmf: ) and there was this comment like " he doesn't look comfortable with it and if he keeps this short Javi Will beat him all season long blah blah". :whack:
Sometimes i really wonder what is wrong with people :palmf:
The season hasn't even really started yet, nobody know what will happen tomorrow but everyone seems to know how the future of an athlete is going to be. This is so annoying :dumb:

About the costume, you're right, we survived many things, nothing can shock us anymore

concept derives from Latin conceptus . PW and Prince SP conceptus = to be a rockstar, to be cool, (to be sexy, they say) 3 seasons out of five, not exactly what experimentation etymologically means.

Waiting anxiously for tonight to see magic Yuzu on the ice again!

Chill, he can have the worst SP ever, and still his LP is gonna make it all up and more

unless he wears the worst costume ever for FP :laugh2:

Oy! I thought I was the only one!
OK I find that part to be too literal and there are other small things I find a bit "eh?". But there are more details that I love than those that I am "eh" about so I still want to send cupcakes for Jeff for choreographing this short

This is the exciting thing about skating. Noone know what will happen. noone, not even the judges, skaters, coaches, experts or even "cough" self-proclaimed experts. Last season after Chan made his return they all already crowned him the world champion for that season but we all know how it all turn out. After Yuzuru broke record back to back at NHK and GPF, they all run in and alreday crowned him WC too, we also know what happened. This is the beauty of sports, we won't know what will happen on d-day which is why (for me) it is so exciting!

P.S : I think Shoma just beat Javi at JO so really, we will never know what will happen this season and who will thrive. I just hope everyone is healthy and skate their best. For Yuzuru, personally for me, I just hope he continues doing what he does, pushes himself which eventually pushes and elevates his skating to an astronomical level (while still staying healthy, amen). :) He is already an oly/world/GPF champ who broke world record 10 times. I think more titles acclaimed by him is just (for me) another jewel embedded to his crown.

Totally agree in all: Successful step is made into this season, very important for him to land this 4 Lo and that the 1 S was caused by a hole .
Costume: I dont see enough of Hanyu, the pants, he tries to get a crazy feeling to the public, he dances his lungs out but you dont see it properly,f.ex. the pose on his knees from above. Prince would have never chosen a white background with so much white in his costume, tell me I am wrong. But one thing: Coloured ice would be great !

Dearly beloved...I think it's time we see BLACK COLORED ICE.:devil::dance::hap36: (I'm serious-PARTLY)

I don't know why anyone bothers with them as they never have nothing of substance to say. Only like skaters when they win, diss them when they falter :roll5:

Lol my face when I saw it --->
