Thanks, mcq. I understood the comfortable in the second half part, but missed the warm up part. I was in the arena watching, and it is true. He didn't do that much. Maybe that is a good strategy considering how strong the 2nd half was, lol.

Yes maybe he should not jump so much next time during warm up lol.

I saw evgenia tweeting during warm up "Why he doesn't warm up?" "He doesn't jump much" (I swear it is almost like she is one of us lol).
This is actually a good skate. He was clean aside of the 4Lo and popped 4s3t (and that weird stumble on the last spin lol). if he can slowly pace from here to slowly gain the 4Lo and the combo this will be awesome :)

I'll join you in the pit (against the others). Loved this program (yes more than Seimei) from the time it was introduced, and it's because this is something only yuzuru can do at this point in his career. Gentle and fragile but packed with difficulty. The only vague thought of dissent I have in mind is that resting point in the middle is too empty, it really stood out.

Soooo looking forward to the EX. Maybe Misha should do some choreography

I think both programs are something that only Yuzuru can do... and they're so different from each other! That's what makes him special

I just rewatched it and it amazes me how serene he looked while he skated. I was too nervous while watching live to notice it the first time round. I really love this FS. And about the empty part, I noticed it during the first warmup at ACI and I was thinking that he could move the spin that's before the step sequence to that part instead. The spin doesn't really fit the music (except the exit, which is really nice), so it might be okay. The 3F isn't even in the second half anyway right?

Here is an HD video without commentary for his FS:

Edit: Oh and you can hear his entire conversation with Brian in the K&C quite clearly in this video too!

Im taking a sleep. These past few days exausted me a lot from nervousness and lack of sleep for differnet time zone, but im so happy now. As some of you, i had been worried about his mental, about which i’d seen some concern in SP. But FP blotted out it! thanks guys for all the comments, reports, update!

Now i cant wait EX! I really expect the coreo by DW. Of couse, also his costume!

At Sunday night in japanese time, Japanese TV will broadcast FP, so new videos will be uploaded.:yahoo:

Have a good night and thanks again for all your links and translations!! :thank:

So far I still prefer Seimei (not that I don't love Hisaishi stuff), but I will wait and see where he takes this program. And I preferred Seimei's costume. That random ruffle on his FS costume really annoys me, lol. Seimei was perfect.

SACRILEGE. That Ruffle flowing with the wind has a life of its own.

Is it terrible that I already knew what the link was before clicking it? ;) I agree that it's a close call. We'll see how Hope & legacy will develop. :coffee:

sorry for the posts back-to-back, i'm a zombie at the moment. Forgot the edit button existed for a second.

It was upon seeing that I decided that Shae-Lynn Bourne was as absolute genius.

And yes, the middle bit after the flip and before the 2nd salchow is too obviously empty. They have to add something more there, even if just a simple move. Easy place to get docked marks... or alternatively, easy excuse not to give him higher marks.

Agreed. Was it that empty at AC too? I get that it's a breather and that almost every skater has one in their program, but it almost felt like he left out part of the choreography? Not saying that he needs lots of moves in their but just a nicer transitional element. It does opens up the opportunity to mark down his transition score.

About the less jumps in warmup thing to do better in the second half, I'm glad that he's figured out a way for himself to skate well 2nd in the group. Next time he's skating second after warmup (which hopefully is never again as that would mean he's not in top 3 after SP), he wouldn't feel like it's over before it has begun. It's great that he's not waiting for Brian or other people to tell him what he should do to fix that and takes matters into his own hands. He knows his body best after all.

Did anyone notice the ruffle and the collar got more sparkly? Maybe this is a trend that will continue

From my memory it was just as empty at aci. And yeah, everyone has a breather but this seems more obvious than others.

Hopefully skating 2nd will no longer be an issue. Trouble on his newly competitive 4L is to be expected, and yeah the sal was doubled, but the rest was clean. I hope that has exorcised some of those 2nd spot demons from now on. He can finish strong after an early falter... no more being thrown off after a mistake.

love love hope&legacy! although my nickname is semei, my taste is soft and warming thema haha. SC lp reminds of his teen's unique style like white legend, etude and some RJ2 which I loved. and love contrast between sp and lp. so proud of him. well rest and train again. expect to see his new ex!

The ACI footage was grainy so I didn't see it as well and I don't remember too many pictures, but I'll take your word for it. I'm sure it's there to stay and take on a life of its own :drama:

But if I can tune out Shoma's grating lyrics in the second half of his LP, I can live with this.

I just checked the protocol. Some judges gave him 0 goe (please!) on his 3Alo3S and only +1 goe on his 3a2t
i don't understand why, i think they are things of beauty.

3A1lo3S : steps, difficult entry and pretty good height and distance too, considerably good flow and effortless landing too. I don't know how to justify 0 goe given by some judges
3A2T : arms variation, effortless, height distance, steps preceding, good flow and entry+exit is arguable but this should be +2 or+3 cause it has at least 4 bullet point for me

anyone can explain to me :scratch2:

I have no idea but that 4S should've been +3 GOEs across the board imo. It looked so effortless and the landing was

I thought I am the only one!
Anyway I would have given it +3 across the board too but they gave him average of +2 so I guess I can understand and I will live with that. if that jump was judged somewhere else we will probably see very different goe given though ;)

Edited: I mixed up SP and FS judges, so Kenji Amako actually gave good marks to Yuzu in FS. Thanks to Muscle Memory and mcq for correcting me.
Although I have to notice that at SP mr. Amako wasn't too generous to Yuzu.
Japanese judges have the image of very "strict" but in these circumstances I would call it "stingy"

Anyway, it doesn't really matter. Yuzu has won FS, dealed well with skating second and has solid chances for GPF :luv17:

Well, Mr Kenji Amako, I will remember your name, just like Mrs Angelique Clyde-Smith

Omg Kenji Amako got his named pronounced wrong every time, they always pronounced it with a silent J.
Edit: forgot to say but so disagree on the 0 for the 3A-1Lo-3S , the 3S was the lightest thing ever, I watched it after on YouTube and the video doesn't do it justice, very easy combination

Yuzuru deserves a standing ovation for when they said goodbye at Victory Ceremony, he bowed very deeply to the fan who lent him a Japan flag and bowed like a millions times before leaving the ice. I'm not saying anyone was disrespectful because everyone was dandy but Yuzuru was clearly so grateful for everyone. He looked pretty pooped and Gala practice is super early tomorrow, I hope he gets some well needed rest.

Usually Yuzuru tends to be shaky at his first GP event, next time I'm sure of it, he will be even better. I give Patrick the edge but if Yuzuru had won I wouldn't have an issue with it either. It was too close. I'm super satisfied because I did get several quads in my face. i think his demons will all be out by GPF and he will win definitively there.

Also Yuzuru does have a more feminine, graceful style, but I actually found him quite manly at this event. Maybe its his power on the ice or he's just growing up too fast, I dont know haha, he's def taller than I thought he was

Well, we knew Evgenia was going to take a picture with Yuzu  I love the caption
Didn't know the banquet was today, I would have thought it was tomorrow.
