His injury takes longer to heal though. But I think it's goodness in disguise for him, as he now understands that he can't just go on ignoring the pain. I remember when he was 17 he said something like "pain is alright!", now he doesn't say things like that anymore.Poor bby :c at least it looks like he understands now how important is to rest and heal properly.

He looked calm at SC LP actually, I guess he has another goal in his mind at that moment, to adjust himself accordingly to his body condition and to each competition.

His jumps technique is better, he doesn't seem to need anymore to be in top physical shape to nail quads. I was impressed by how easily he nailed 4T as 5th(!) jump in FS more than half way trough. Last year that wouldn't have been possible
Although I agree, I think it's telling that only his 4T has been really consistent this competition (in the K&C after the FS, Brian mentioned that he didn't miss any 4Ts). To me, that seems like he is relying on 'muscle memory' since 4T has been a stable jump for him for a long time already and he can whip it out anytime even with little practice. He will almost always rotate it even if he falls. On the other hand, although he had been practising more 4S and 4Lo compared to his 4T due to the injury, they are still considerably more inconsistent in comparison and need way more focus to land. Everything needs to line up correctly for him to even rotate them (though when he does rotate them, they're great). I know some of it is due to the mechanics of edge vs toe jumps but I think he hasn't 'conquered' the 4S yet to the extent that he can nail it without being in top physical shape.
Also, I hope they are paying attention to how he is doing his 4T and make sure that he's not doing it the same way that led to the injury in the first place. He was throwing out a lot of toe jumps in the gala practice.
Actually, last season his 4S is more consistent that his 4T. He only failed it once in the SP at Japan Nats and then the FS at worlds, other than that he landed all the rest cleanly with + GOE. Just my assumption, his inconsistency with 4S recently may possibly be due to his not being used to the difference in timing between 4S and 4Lo just yet. He used to say that timing between 4Lo and 4S is similar thus in the past he thought by practicing 4Lo he began to gain consistency in 4S. But recently, both him and Brian claimed that the timing and mechanics between 4S and 4Lo is actually pretty different and not the same. He probably just need time to get used to doing both jumps at the same program, I think.
No, even in practice, his edge jumps have always been more consistent than his toe jumps. This time it's just the timing and the pressure of quad loop. That's all.I think the reason why his 4T was inconsistent last season was simply due to the injury, not that his 4S is really more consistent than his 4T. I agree that doing both 4Lo and 4S in the same program probably affects the timing for both, or perhaps doing two edge quad jumps just takes more energy? I think just doing 2 4S in his program takes more energy than doing 2 4Ts, even without 4Lo in the picture, which is why he's trying to make the jump more efficient and it looks very airy when he does land it.

I think so too, his solo 4S is ok in practice even during summer when he resumed his training. It's the combo the issue. But again I hope he won't go back to 4T3T because it relates to his foot injury.Actually I think his solo quad salchow is pretty consistent. It's when he's had to do it in combination that he has trouble, he hasn't landed a 4S3T in official competition yet (either this season or at Worlds last season). I feel when he finally does land it it'll start to be consistent in competition. It's a real beauty in practice.
All right you are the best.

Will we be seeing that combo in competition anytime soon?
